I have an iMac OS X Yosemite and an HP photosmart 5520 wireless printer. The printer will no longer print and puts all documents in the print queue. I've tried removing/ adding the printer etc.

Try setting up the wireless from USB connection. See

Click on OS X v10.10 Yosemite, OS X v10.9 Mavericks and OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion and follow the steps

When you get to step 3, choose Option two: Wireless setup using a USB connection. (There is a video as well)

Hope this helps.

Mavericks problems

Apple doesn't allow going back unless you reformat the drive and load the last OS you were using. This is of course not practical but there is some 'good' news... Apple is (as they always do) coming up with a fix that will solve many of the problems your are having w/ Mavericks.
Just a note... With Apple its always best to wait a couple months after a new OS release before you take the leap. The same thing happens virtually every time with Computers, Phones etc. Waiting allows them to fix the mess they are putting early adopters through and you get to load a stable OS.

I am running OS X 10.4.11 and would like to upgrade my operating system?

Please provide more information.
To what would you like to upgrade it?

Since OSX Mavericks was just announced, I'm going to assume that's what you're wanting to upgrade to.

Not all Macs can run Mavericks.

Mavericks Capable Macs

Mavericks, like its predecessor Mountain Lion, requires one of the following Macs with at least 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of available hard drive space:
  • iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)

If your Mac isn't one of the ones listed above, you won't be able to upgrade.

If you have an iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, or Mac mini model that was originally released in Early/Mid 2006, the latest version of Mac OS X your system supports is Snow Leopard.

I have a Canon MP 990 all-in-one and an iMac running snow leopard. I tried downloading an updated driver for OS 10.6, but am still unable to scan wirelessly. Keeps looking for a USB connection, which I...

The MP990 should be able to do this with snow leopard. Make sure you are using the MP Navigator EX as the application to bring scans into the iMac.

For further information, go to this link. In the search box in the center of the screen, type "scan wireless to mac" and click the Search button. Review the various answers for details.
