Str-w770 stereo amp

Hi, I have a str-w770 amp and im find that on the right channel there's popping sounds & a slight humming. I fond that if i say change functions or if i reduce the volume from say level 1 to Level 0 (off) i get the popping. Have you seen this type of issue? Any ideas? thanks Joe

So im happy to do some soldering but was really after any ideas or a logical approach. I found that there is a power supply board and one particular rail (-7.0v) seems to be grounded when i plug into the main amp board. The remaining rails look fine. Looking at the circuit theres a couple chips and capacitors. Have you seen capacitors short? Arent they support to burst their heads? All my capitors look fine?

It could be just a lead, check your lead heads and inserts are clean.
Check along your leads and wires for any obvious kinks / tight bends / cuts / nicks / something sitting down on it or any damage to the wires.

It could be just the dials / knobs need taking off and cleaning in behind. the pickups, you may not need to remove them just spray with electronic cleaner str-w770 stereo amp - b3203b06-4ced-4fda-befd-44f385f97b7e.jpg this stuff is great for lots of differnts electrical cleaning problems.
Good luck

SOURCE: Gem Sound XP-350 both channels failed

Speaker fuses are generally fast-blow styles 250 volt glass
If an amp shuts down, with speakers connected, it sounds like one of the power supply lines does NOT like what it's "seeing" . Probably output transistors bad ( or module)

Take it to a tech.

Scott out.

SOURCE: crate gtx 65 guitar amp mains hum

I had the same problem on my VTX65. I noticed it would oscillate with different effects so I removed the effects module. Problem solved. Now it's dead quiet. I use a Digitech RP500 so removing the effects module was a non issue.

2010 VW CC factory stereo amp popping sound

If the amplifier itself is making the popping sound I suggest you disconnect it immediately, as it could be an electrical short within the amp. If the popping sound is actually coming from the speakers, it could be due to a crossed wire, blown amp channel, or blown speaker. If you posses the technical know-how, you can test the amp channel and speaker by connecting a different speaker to the channel responsible for the popping sound. If the new speaker makes the same popping noise then it is most likely a blown channel. I hope this helps =)

No rear speakers coming out oy my system.reciever sony STR-DG800 and bose acoustimass 10 speakers

The rear left and right channel has a audio output ic problem, first check rear speaker wires for shorts, if okay! the system will need to be assessed for repair costs.

Sony STR-DE525 Left Rear channel not working

Most likely the amp for that channel is defective. If memory serves me correctly, there is a small amp chip mounted on the heatsink that is for both the left and right rear. I would change that first. It should have about 5-7 pins.

No Center Sound

it probably isn`t :) it should be a problem with the settings :) i have a str de335 too and i get decent sound.. it depends on what type of source of input u`re using . try this.. hook up a stereo source. go into setup mode.. select wide or normal setting for center, then activate sound field .. c-studio for example.. if the sound is annoying something is wrong with the amp.. :-s btw use the delay settings from 1-6 6 if they are close together :) . When using 5.1 input... turn off soundfield always.. and triple check center settings&levels
