Question about Lands Phones

No LCD Display since battery low and phone switched off!

The phone started bleeping as low battery. As was middle of night simply switched phone off. The next day, when put back in its charger and switched back on, no display whatsoever showing - but back light still worked (as did making and receiving calls - although this no use when display not working as you can't see who you're dialling, nor who is phoning you). Problem is how to get display to reappear.

Thanks for your help. Have already tried this though without success. Even tried putting new, fully charged batteries in and leaving it for a while, but nothing. It has been a few days now. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks again.

Try to remove the battery for 10 minutes and plug it back in if fully charged. Sometimes the battery just gets tired and needs a new replacement. Try to unplug it first like I said.

Your head light switch is the only thing that is capable of turning your head lights on, so I would replace it ! On the other hand you could have a mouse living in the dash, that has chewed through some wiring and at night when it is active it causes a short to turn the lights on. But I would would start with the switch lol

White display

The reason your phone is showing white display is because the flex of the phone is faulty.

  1. get the appropriate screwdriver (Torx 6 screwdriver),
  2. First remove the battery cover & battery. Remove the two screws you see.
  3. Run your fingernail around the join of the front cover and then remove the front cover.
  4. Now remove the four screws you can see.
  5. The top part of the phone (PCB and LCD screen) can now be removed from the middle chassis,
  6. A metal frame surrounds the LCD screen. It's held on with clips around the edge of the PCB. Unclip and remove.
  7. You can now remove the LCD screen. It's attached by a ribbon which connects like a plug and socket. Simply lift it upwards and it'll unplug.
  8. The ribbon which connects the screen to the panel you just removed is what needs replacement, it is attached to the screen so you have to replace the screen, if there is a way you can replace only the ribbon, that would do just fine,
  9. You can now replace the LCD.
  10. Reverse the whole procedure for reassembly.
Take care

Black screen

Your LCD connector could be faulty or your LCD itself might need replacing. Visit a Motorola service center and they'll replace the LCD or the display IC. It could also be that the connector is simply dislodged and it might need to just be fitted back in.

hi there i have had that problem once, and i'v solved it.
for the heating of the battery and no lights, no display, no signal its all for the flex(ribbon) problem all i did was remove again the flex and clean the contacts sometimes it shorts i just re-solder the contacts of the flex. because some of parts that we bought is not 100% ok. just try it again maybe you'll make it.
