Lg vu won't charge but on a computer

• Keyboard issues (no predictive text):
  • This isn't a "fix" per se, but it seems the best route is to use an alternative keyboard. Swype is pre-installed on the phone, so you can switch to that without installing anything new. Alternatively, you can try other players such as SwiftKey, A.I.type, and TouchPal. Otherwise, LG is aware of the issue and working on a fix.
• Phone won't charge
  • The potential fix is to enable USB Debugging. To do so, head to Settings -> Applications -> Development -> make sure USB Debugging is checked.
  • Alternatively, if it won't charge normally (while powered on), it should charge while powered off. Your best bet is probably to power it off and let it charge while you sleep.
  • For some people, it seems that the phone actually is charging, it just doesn't show it.
• Can't use USB storage
  • Enabling USB Debugging (above) may fix the issue.
  • If not, try uninstalling the phone's USB drivers on your PC. They can be found on LG's Optimus S listing under Downloads ("LG Android Driver").

Unfortunately, there are no perfect fixes for any of the issues listed above. Other users are reporting a smattering of smaller (and substantially less frequent) issues, but hopefully the above can help some people with the most significant issues.

If it's plugged into the computer it will charge still. The phone doesn't come up and ask if you want to sync to data or music? If you have Windows Media Player open that up and go to the sync tab. Hopefully the program will find the phone.

well, i have no clue where to start, i've got like $35 bucks, and in this economic time, i ain't spending it, but i gues what u shuld do is go to my computer, u might see a picture of ur phone, or it mite say, lg vu or sumthing, and just, go through the files, OR right click, and press explore, it's more organized.

yes i have had same problen i took phone to store and they put a new charge port in it

There are 2 possible problems you are having. You charger is going bad as evidenced by th cable going bad. Take it to a carriers store and try a different charger.

The other issue may be the charging port is going bad. Having to tape the charger may be an indication of that.

Try using another SIM card from the same provider from a friend or associate. It could be your card is defective,not activated or expired.

First you must determine is it the charger faulty or the phone ? , have you a friend with the same phone if so try her or his battery to see if your phone is ok if so try the charger with your battery and see if it charges if it does get a new charger , if it did not charge or work with your friends battery or charger the sorry it would be cheaper to buy a new phone than try to get it fixed ...
if you haven't got a friend with the same phone have a local electrician check if there is an output from your charger . if there is it may just be the battery try a new one if still no luck it is probably the phone's charger circuit gone pop ,, sorry .. vortash

took the phone back, getting a blackberry curve. If the LG vu is considered a smart phone, it sure is a stupid phone . I would want a smart phone to do everything , sync with any app. I would pay big for a phone like that.
