Question about Gerber Blades Gerber Cornea HI Flashlight 2280122

Open Question

My flashlight was not used for a year or more. I went to light it and it wouldn't light. I replaced the batteries and it still will not light. Any ideas why? It is a gerber cornea-hi, it has high output L.E.D. and spot to flood printed at the lamp end. Should I return this or is it fixable?

SOURCE: broke my gerber 3.0 flashlight

Wow what entertainment. Both the poster and the bobint17 don't have a clue how this flashlight works... why answer a question you don't know the answer too? To screw with people? To sound like you know what you're doing?

Anyway, the Gerber TX 3.0 uses a Luxeon 3 LED. There is no bulb. It is not designed as a user replaceable item and unfortunately even someone skilled at soldering and such can't fix the light because the head is permanently attached and not designed to be removed allowing access to the LED assembly. Can the head be removed? Possibly. Will it damage something while trying to remove it with a lot of force? Possibly. Should you try? No. Why? Because the light has a limited lifetime warranty from Gerber. Send it to them and they will fix or replace it!!!

Hello. The correct way to remove and replace the battery would be to unscrew the end cap all the way. The Battery will then fall away allowing for a new battery insertion. The "plate" is not suppose to be removed (according to Gerber Blades). Hope this helps.

I replaced the battery in mine(coleman powermate) for 10 bucks but you have to be careful in how you disassemble it and put it back together. Batteries sulfate after awhile like a car battery.

Bought the rechargeable light new a couple years ago, used one time for about 90 seconds. Went to use it again, it was dead. plugged in the battery charger into the cig lighter and it worked after 5 min....

First, ensure the charger is delivering voltage using a volt meter. If it is, the battery is probably bad. If you have soldering skills, the light can probably be disassembled and a replacement battery can be purchased from Radio Shack or online.

Presario CQ62 notebook pc charge problem! when I plugged charger its light always turn to flash and it says not recharging. But when I off my pc the orange light always show. Plz help

How old is the battery? In what year was it manufactured?
Batteries _DO_ wear out, i.e., fail to recharge.
You can either buy a new battery (eBay is a good place to look),
or find a company that disassembles the battery, and replaces the cells that take/hold a charge,
i.e., like replacing the batteries inside a flashlight, instead of totally discarding the flashlight.

I had two maglite flashlights, 1 is a (2)D cell light and the other is a (3) D cell light . I went to replace the batteries and I can not get cap off the back ends of both. I think the batteries may have...

the batteries will only go out the bottom -- any attempt to remove the top pieces will most likely result in damage to the light itself. to help in the removal of the BOTTOM cap -- you can try and use a little heat from a propane torch ( not much ) and if you place the end cap into a vise you should be able to get both hands on the top part and give it a good twist. -- if the batteries are if fact corroded in there, get a 2x4 and place it on the gound and tap the flashlight down on it,, this may or may not shake them loose,, all just depends on how long they have been in there. good luck.

I have a 4 D cell maglite. I have had it for about 10 years. The batteries leaked and froze in the unit. It was major work to remove them. In the process the part of the light that holds the bulb was lost....

I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. I got the address of the battery company (which is on battery), mailed them a hand written letter, explaining what happened, and they sent me a new flash, with batteries. But, that was when companies had warrenties that said if our batteries ever harm your product in any way, we will replace it free of charge. It's worth a try....oh...also....you will have send the old flash light and batteries, after, or with your letter.TJS

LED Flashlight Battery Drain Problem

This particular flashlight uses a microchip that consumes the power of the batteries, whether in use or not. Loosen the case to where the batteries go in, so there is no contact with polarity. Or just take the batteries out completely and replace them for actual use.
