Freezer keeps freezing up

yes, replaced it,but still freezing over ever 2 weeks.I can't see how to replace the defrost timer?? Where is it located at?? GESS22UFM

You must change the defrost heater element, located in the back of the freezer compartment at the bottom. You have to remove the four screws, two on each side of the panel on the back wall of the freezer. The heating element located at the bottom has two wirers connected underneth on both sides of the element. The wires have female connectors which slide onto the male spades on the element, and can be easily removed. The single element heaters are now being replaced with a dual element heaters at the manufactures request. A refrigerator which I have repaired twice failed again when I replaced a single element with another single element heater after two years. I was informed only after a second trip to the same store to replace the part that General Electric suggested the dual element after they realized there were so many problems with the single element. I think G.E. should have factory recalled these units after they knew there was a problem. I also think I should not have to pay 38 dollars twice, and I should have been given the dual element the first time I had this problem!!!!!! I am a electronic and appliance technician and didn't have to pay for labor,But I am going to contacting G.E. about a refund for atleast one of my part replacements. I should been givin the dual element the first time. I recommend that anyone that reads this post that has had this problem do the same. My refrigerator was less than two years old when this problem first occured The dual element doesn't have to work as hard and will work much Longer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
