Question about Sony KP-57WS520 57" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
I have just purchased this TV used. In 'Twin View' the right side or picture is fine with both Video and Sound. The left side has sound but no Video. This is preventing me from seeing the picture in full view. Video 5,6,7 are the ports in which this problem is occuring. I have called around to numerous companies in San Antonio and they are all telling me that it is going to be expensive. Is there something like a quick fix or can someone tell me what to look for. I have done some research on my own but still feel like I don't know what the actual problem is....Suggestions

If the picture is playing fine and you notice that the background is getting more and more red, until it is too red and the set shuts down, it could be that the red screen control is set just a bit too high. If this is the case, you can probably correct this yourself. If you are watching a perfect picture and then it suddenly flashes a very bright red, with thin red lines in the pictureand then shuts down, it usually means that the red picture tube has developed a short in it, between the cathode and heater. A good tech might be able to remove the short by arcing, but if the short persists then the red tube will have to be replaced. Either way, this is something that should only be done by a qualified tech.

To be more specific, you will need to find D6116 or D6301 located on the G board, they might be open and will need to be replace.
You can request a service manual from this website.

If you are using a cable or satellite receiver to tune your channels, they have settings that may be causing the problem. There should be a menu option for System Settings or something similar. Make sure that no type of Zoom has been turned on. Also ensure that your type of TV is set properly. If your TV is a Widescreen then make sure either that or 16:9 is chosen. If all of those settings are correct, and there is no Zoom feature is turned on your TV then there maybe an internal issue with the TV. You'll have to get a technician in to find the problem or check the internal settings that only he can access.

5 times blinks shows incorrect white balance (AKB) error. TV needs Screen Volts (G2) adjustment.
Take off lower front panel, find Focus Block that has 6 control knobs, adjust Screen volts of each CRT (red-green-blue) and problem will be solved.
Be Careful while working in TV.
Let me know if you have further question.

Testimonial: "Unfortantly didn't do the trick, during quite a few adjustments as you suggested, I would get a error code 10. Any feedback on this new code?"
