SOURCE: says this memory card is protected - can't take

Kindly follow the steps below

Remove the memory card from the camera.
Look at the memory card very well, you will see a slide switch on the side edge of the memory.
Move the switch to the unlock position.
Put the memory card back to the camera.
You can then start using it.

Thanks

Hi there. A friend decided my computer is too slow so deleted some programs. It seems that the program for my PC to "see" the Panasonic DMC-FZ5 has gone. I use my camera almost daily to download...

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Also, consider using a knife instead of a gun. It's quieter :-)

The memory card is protected and I am unable to turn off the card protection. unable to take pictures with protection on or download pictures

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Are you saying the pics are still on your camera card and you're able to view them on your camera? If so, just get a card reader and use it to download to a folder you create on your desktop.

Hi, I've a Panasonic LUMIX FZ38 (fw version 1.0). When I want to clear the SDHC content via pc (camera in Mass Memory Mode), or to transfer the pictures via cut, it says ''Unable to delete...the storage...

Yes, it's normal. You should never try to delete, format, transfer to camera, or anything else with the computer. It's always from camera to computer...never the other way around. And when you're finished downloading, always use the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom right of your computer screen.

This picture cannot be deleted - The picture is not based on the DCF standard cannot be deleted)

Plug your media card into a card reader on your computer and delete the photos there, or you can format the card from your camera and that will delete everything.
