Question about Kenmore 5553 / 655532 / 55534 / 55539 Side by Side Refrigerator
I have a Kenmore coldspot side by side. Model number 106.5666501.
The ice is not ejecting. The padels are frozen inside the ice cubes. I took the icemaker out and defrosted the ice cubes.
I replaced the ice maker completely free of ice and dry. The next cycle, the padels did not completely rotate the ice around and now the padels are frozen inside the cubes.
Sounds like the icemaker thermostat is opening too soon which turns the heater off. The easiest thing to do is replace the whole ice maker which I have seen pretty cheap on ebay. If you want you can test these part with an ohm meter. Check the heater for resistance. If it is ok then replace the module and thermostat.
