Question about Belling Ovens

Open Question

Belling hob won't simmer

The ceramic hobs on our Belling cooker will no longer simmer - they are turned full on whenever I switch them on. I'm guessing some kind of thermostat needs replacing, but would appreciate practical guidance.

SOURCE: belling oven stopped working

It is most likely the element needs replacing although it could be the oven thermostat.

I would try a new element first, it is not a complicated job to change the element but you need to switch the power off at the wall before you start work.

If you are unsure or in doubt about carrying out the work seek professional help.

SOURCE: Hi there, I have a belling gas oven cooker, which when you try to ignite the oven or grill it keeps ticking but wont spark up. The gas is fine as you can light them manually and the hobs light fine so

why would they be trying to light an electric oven ( see which product do you think they mean ) You need to check that the spark being produced is close enough to the gas outlet

I have a Belling DB4 90Ei Cooker and I have noticed a hole in the back of each oven. Why is this ( top left hand corner of photo/oven)

Oh that one. It is the vent to the warming section of the hob, or a vent to the top under a burner. It releases steam from the oven cavity.

What can I do about the hobs overheating - when on, they are only on the highest heat and can't be turned down.

THE only solution is to replace the regulators that control the hotplates.
Could prove to be expensive.

We have a belling format oven - when we turn the top oven on it is making a sound like a helicopter

The noise is probably cominbg from the externally mounted cooling fan. to access it, you will have to remove the side panel and rear cover, and top cover if it is bullt in.
If it is free standing, you should be able to get to it by removing the top cover/hob.
Hope this helps.

Halogen ring not working

Hi .
It sounds like the temp control is faulty.
Either way you are going to have to remove the hob top to access the controls and elements, Then you can check if the element is getting a feed to it.

Sometimes you can see if the element has gone, .

If you need any further help, let me know.Good luck.
