Since internet passwords are case sensitive you need to verify that the "Caps Lock" is not on or verify correct case for password.

I cannot connect. I keep getting a message "authentication Failed"

Do you connect your PC to router in an administrator role using web browser? Or do you connect some device to Wi-Fi network?

  1. Administrator role: You need to have correct login name and password for admin access. Search in manual or ask Google for default login name and password of your router type. If non-default password is set in the router then you must reset router setting and erase its settings to default (factory) status. You will lose all router configuration but default password is back.
  2. Wi-Fi client role: There are more possibilities why authentication fails in wireless communication. Mentioned error message describes what kind of problem occurred.
    (a) A password you put to client device does not match the wireless network password which is set in router. Your computer, tablet or smartphone WI-Fi interface must have exactly same password as WI-Fi network which is transmitted from router. Check and compare passwords on both sides, in client device and in router.
    (b) Client Wi-Fi interface security (encryption) mode differs from Wi-Fi network encryption used in router. But the same mode must be set on both sides (client and router) for successful connection.
Encryption modes are
  • WPA2 Enterpise
  • WPA2 PSK ("home")
  • WPA Enterprise
  • WPA PSK
  • WEP
  • No encryption (open)
Higher position - better security. Enterprise Wi-Fi modes require security devices like authentication servers, certification authorities etc. They are not used in home networks usually.

Can I setup a wireless Wi-Fi connection with my Fujitsu lifebook N1061. Does it's wireless modem match with Wi-Fi protocol?

there are two sections to this problem. first it that all wireless devices use 3 types of signals.
they are wireless b, g or n type wireless devices. usually you can set your default to recieve b/g or b/g/n. your wireless router should have a label that indicates what protocols it transmits in. once this has been determained, there is the Authentication process which provides security for your wieless signal so that not just anyone in the area can use your connection to the internet such as in a public business where you see the sign Free WI FI. this Authentication method must ALSO match what your router is set up for. when you go into the routers admin area which is a url number such as (169.254.198.1 ) from a connected computers (internet browser) this your wireless manufacturer will provide. you must MATCH this Authentication type also on your laptop to that what you setup to use for the router to ASK for. there are way to many different products to know exactly which one you need. There are only about three different choices for this security connection protocol to pick from. then you will need the PASSCODE from the router label to enter into your laptop wireless setup area. when all matches you should get a hookup.

Unable to connect to internet through Wi Fi on Nokia E65

You need to "authenticate" the wireless meaning you need the password to the web signal. Your phone may have an internal software issue in which it prevents you from connecting to the internet. Contact your phone company to trouble shoot it or get a replacement phone.
