Replace the blade drive belt on a Victa VRX 14.5HP 38-inch cut lawn mower with the correct size. The old belt was 77 inches by 1/2 inches, but a larger new belt may not fit. Verify the size requirements with the manual or Victa customer support, or compare to the new belt purchased. If incorrect, return and purchase the right size.

There are belts in the clutch, which is the lever you can move to adjust the vacuum from floor to tools. The belts become stretched and need to be replaced. You can purchase just the belts or purchase the clutch assembly with the belts installed. There is also a belt change tool that makes the job much easier to install because the new belts will be much tighter than the old belts. The parts are available from thatvacguy.com.

If its belt driven, the belt had dislodged or broken off completely. If gear driven, the gear teeth had broken, so the gears needs replacement. If you purchased less than a year ago, find the store receipt or look up the purchase history on your bank/ credit card invoice archive and if it shows the product name and model number, then that's sufficient proof of purchase. Some retail stores like Walmart can printout a duplicate receipt if you know the exact date, time of purchase, and which register processed the transaction. When you have proof of purchase receipt, contact the manufacturer for address to return product to file 1-year warranty claim.

Hi, I have the same problem. I rang KMart who advised they don't stock washing machines anymore but gave me the manufacturer's number which is 1300 366 155. I rang them and they said it is probably a generic belt which you could purchase from most repair shops, but you can purchase them through Homemaker. They were going to charge me $20 and it would take 7-10 working days to deliver. I am trying to source locally (Albury, NSW) as it may be cheaper if it's generic.

This machine has what they call a thermal switch. It is designed to
shut the machine off if it gets too hot. This heat is caused by
friction. Friction is caused 99% of the time by the walking belt or
the drive belt. If it is the drive belt then it can be solved by
either applying a treadmill lubricant (must be made for treadmill
belts) or by purchasing a new belt. If you feel the underneath side
of the belt and you feel a screen door type feeling you just need
lubricant. If you feel a smooth surface you will probably need a
new belt. If you have lubricated in the past year and your belt has
the screen door feel then take off the motor hood cover and check
the drive belt. If it is worn then you will need to replace that.
