Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: bootmgr is compressed

I know of three solutions, none of them will work without recovery or OS discs, and I can only guarantee one of them--the one that whipes your system. Try these in this order (assuming you have system discs);

#1 Boot from the system disc and choose the "repair" option. This is the quickest fix, and you lose anything.

#2 Boot from the system disc, and in your Start menu search type "Command Prompt". Open Command Prompt and type (hit enter after each line);
expand bootmgr temp
attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h

#3 Run a full system recovery from your system discs.

Now, if you don't have your system discs, and you're running Windows Vista, there is another possible option. If your computer is fairly new then you probably have a WinRE partition for recovery, (a "factory image" drive)? I won't go into this now, if you have your discs option 1 or 2 should work for you.

SOURCE: cannot restart laptop

"Boot with the Vista DVD, when it enters Setup hit your SHIFT-F10 keys Setup will run "cmd", and drops you to a command prompt that is running with SYSTEM privileges.

Then at the command prompt type the following (hitting <enter>) after each line.:

attrib bootmgr -s -r -h
del bootmgr
ren temp bootmgr
attrib bootmgr -a +s +r +h
"

hope this helps! :)

If TFGHT is compressed, can i reformat my laptop without cd? or pressing long 0. give me an answer. please! :

Saving space by compressing the drive is not a good thing.
What follows applies to both 32- and 64-bit Windows Vista and Windows 7.
The tip off that the Windows drive has been compressed is a message which looks like the following. 'Some file' in the message can be anything. It might be BootMgr, TFGHT, QXHDK, DFJEU, VUFEI, DGKAR,..
'Some file' is compressed. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.
Windows will not start.
1. The first step to fixing this is to begin the process which leads to the Windows Recovery Environment (aka WinRE). In both Vista and W7, one can use an installation DVD if available. In many OEM environments (including Toshiba's), one can use the entry Repair Your Computer on the F8 Advanced Boot Options menu. In Windows 7, one can use a System Repair disc.
2. On the way to WinRE, you will encounter a screen that looks like this.

3. Click the Load Drivers button and you will find yourself looking at folders on your computer..
4. Find Computer on the left side (the navigation pane) and left-click it.
5. On the right side, right-click the drive with Windows (the C drive) and click Properties in the pop-up.
6. At the bottom of the Properties box, clear the check box that says Compress this drive to save disk space.

7. Another window will pop up asking you to confirm the change. The windows will get messy at this point. You'll need to move them around the screen to see things. Don't panic.
8. On the new window, set Apply changes to drive C:\, subfolders and files, and then click OK.
9. Now you'll need to wait for a few minutes while the decompression takes place. You won't see a progress indicator.
10. After your hard disk stops showing activity, cancel the remaining boxes and restart the computer. It should boot normally.

Per the internet site, it depends upon the model of laptop. Here are some examples:
