Got one pole that the hook on the bottom of the tent won't stick inside the bottom of the pole

Hmmm.. Another photo would've helped. In my experience, though, it has one of three solutions.
  1. There is something (dirt, mud, clay, trash, gum) stuck inside the pole that is preventing the metal hook from going into the bottom of the pole. Try taking a ground stake of a smaller diameter and bottoming it out inside the pole. This will often dislodge FOD.
  2. There's a rubber cap or similar on the end of the pole, or the pole is backwards in the tent. Some of the shock-corded fiberglass poles are not intended to be reversible, and may not have an opening on the problem end. This does not apply to most dome tents, where 2-3 poles in circular arches can be switched, though.
  3. If you simply can't get the hook into place so that the pole can reach it, try to redistribute the tent over that pole. Push more of the end that is the problem through the sleeves on the top of the tent. It'll make the tent look taller, and may seem like it's stretching the tent. What that does is give the pole more wiggle room - on that style pole, sometimes fabric will get hung up on the metal connection sections, preventing an even spread.

Relocating a large metal Hills hoist clothesline. How do we take the top line part from the pole with winding mechanism on it?

there are 8olts at the gear box casing that hold the top tube onto the bottom tube (bit in the ground). By undoing these bolts the top section can be moved to a new location by a couple of good friends and re-bolted back on the new bottom post. With my unit the move was necessary as the bottom section rusted through and was in danger of breaking at ground level. I moved it about a foot and used a piece of stainless steel tube (same od as steel pipe) and re fitted the top section back to the pole in the ground. All you need are holes drilled in the stainless to take the locating tags in the gear box housing

What is the best pick for a hiking pole?

The Black Diamond Contour Trekking Poles are the best poles there are. They collapse down to 35 inches for packing. They have Non-slip foam grips and padded webbing for comfort and even FlickLock adjustment system for securely changing the height of the pole.

I don't know how to set up my travel lite crib bassinet

You're not alone. If you do every step perfectly then it's a breeze. Most of us are human and don't... This frequently results in a major pain.

Most travel cribs print the directions on the pad that lines the bottom of the crib. Unfortunately, this still isn't much help. I'm going to assume that you're like most of us- you've read the directions and you still can't get the thing to cooperate!

I fought with my Graco travel crib many times before I discovered a few secrets:
- Follow the directions precisely, even if a step seems a bit odd.
- If you get going on it and mess up (or it just won't stay up), give it up and start over again from step 1.
- Before you start, make sure that it's completely collapsed. It may look like it is, when it isn't. Here's how you check:
There should be at least one handle near the middle of each top pole that can be squeezed (longer sides sometimes have two). Feel your way across the top pole until you find each lever and squeeze it. This will collapse the pole into two (or more) sections.
Make certain that the poles remain collapsed as you pull the center handle (center of crib where matress will go) towards the sky and squish the whole thing together like you're putting it back in the box (or carrying case.) Now we're ready to start!
1) Gently begin to unfold/open the crib as you hang onto the handle in the center.
2) Continue to hold the center handle with one hand. With the other hand, lift each top pole until it locks into one "solid" pole. NOTE: This is trickier than it sounds! If the center handle drops even half-way down then you won't be able to get all poles to lock and you'll have to start over again.
3) Only after all four top poles have been locked, can you push down the center handle. This will spread the bottom into one flat piece and finish locking everything in place.
Good News!: It's all downhill from here!
4) Put a sheet on the "mattress", if desired.
Otherwise, just unfold it and place it in the bottom of the crib. There are some strange little velcro tabs on the sides of the mattress. These fit down the slits in the bottom of the crib and attach to the underside. This step is important as it keeps the mattress in place and helps to reduce the risk of suffocation.
5) Finally, assemble the canopy, locate all the little snaps on the side, and snap on the accessories.
Whew! Take a deep breath... you did it!
Congratulations on your baby! Enjoy!

Hello. I have a disney princess bed tent that my daughter recieved for christmas. We went to go and set it up and the instructions are missing. Is it possible to get a copy faxed/emailed to me?

I just put one of these up today with no instructions so I am going to share my experience. In my Disney bed tent there were two long sets of poles held together by an elastic string. 1) put these two sets of poles together. Now you should have two long poles. 2) Turn the three way brackets all the same direction on both long poles. 3) Lay out the tent and look in each corner of the tent for a little pocket to insert the end of a long pole...taking the other end insert into pocket, not diagonally, straight across the long way. 4) Do the same with the other side of the tent and long pole. 5) Now take your ten short poles and attach two together making 5 medium sized poles 6) Push these into the brackets along the long pole, kind of has a ladder effect. You are done!! I use mine with a full size blow up bed, the elastic gets stretched but I can set it up easily outside, or in the livingroom. Enjoy Nancy

Usually, when a picture collapses some but not all the way, it indicates that an electrolytic capacitor has gone bad in the verrtical circuit. If the top of the picture shrinks, suspect the pump-up capacitor, but if the bottom shrinks then the coupling cap is probably going bad. This is quite an easy thing to correct, so have a qualified tech service the set.
