SOURCE: Printer jam

Hi Printers have been greatly simplified inside, so if you can get it apart, it should be fairly easy to see the problem and remove it. The problem you will likely have doing it yourself, is getting the thing apart. There is normaly a plastic cover over a metal chassis, (although there is more plastic and less metal every year), and there are clips built on the plastic cover that you pry gently with a screwdriver and it pops off. Every model is different, and the manufacturer purposely hides these to make it difficult for consumers to get apart. Also, depending on the model, it may have a switching power supply board inside which can be dangerous, so if you get it apart, make sure it is never plugged in until back together. Fewer shops service printers these days, because the cost has come down, but in cases like yours, we remove the debris and clean them for $35.00, so if you call around, and describe the problem, you may find a shop that will do it, and save you the hassle. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Canon ix4000 printer. Paper jam caused by sticky

This seems to be fault in the transport of the paper in the rollers. So since you have used adhesive sticker printing, it is possible that some glue has got clogged into the rollers. So use a good clening of the rollers using methyl spirit. also check to see asthere can be some jammed paper in the rollers or the mechanism.
So start this work only if you are mechanically able with the right tools.
Remove the covers to get access to the mechanism . Remove the motor drive assembly , the fitting of the motor to the mechanism. Once this is removed the rollers can be turned manually so that you will be able to feed a paper to see the progress of the movement while studying if there is any obstruction or damage to the paper.
There is a in-detect sensor, usually an opto-coupler , make sure this is not clogged or dirty as this IR detection feeds the signal to the processor for starting the motor drive feed.
Reassemble but make sure the rollers are aligned to be in equal gap to feed the paper without a side pull. Now you must print and see if the fault has changed. If not repeat the above work to confirm the area of obstruction.

HP LaserJet Pro 300 M375nw keeps saying paper jam in drawer 2 but there is no paper anywhere.

My problem was the rollers at the top of the printer where the paper feeds out of the unit. I had printed some labels and some sticky material from the labels stuck to the rollers and metal fuser unit. I cleaned off the sticky strips from the rollers and fuser roller and the unit works fine now. You may have to let the printer cycle several times so it turns the rollers so you are sure to remove all the sticky stuff or paper. I also used a can of the compressed gas to spray out all the dust, paper and sticky stuff after I scrapped off with envelope opener.

It sounds like you had a paper jam and when you tried removing it, something from the printer got loose/broken. It would be best to contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

We have a dymo labewriter that has a label jammed in the roller. Part of the sticky part is stuck on the roller. Cannot be pulled through. What to do?

LabelWriter Label Jam
  1. Unplug your LabelWriter.
  2. Remove the spool and labels.
  3. Remove the face plate.
    • Note: The face plate is the piece with the DYMO name/logo.
  4. Using the paper release lever on the left side of the printer, move the print head away from the feed mechanism.
  5. Straighten out a paper clip and GENTLY cut away at the label caught in the printer.
  6. Using caution, begin removing the label.
    • Note: We recommend using tweezers to remove the jammed label.
  7. Reinsert the face plate back on the LabelWriter. If you need assistance reinserting the face plate:

I have found over the years that printers really don't lie. If it says there is a paper jam there usually is. I have completely taken apart a large laserjet printer to find a very tiny piece of paper causing the problem. Also if you run sticky labels through printers they have a tendency to leave residue or even part of a label behind which will cause the printer to tell you there is a jam. Check your printer very carefully, use some canned air to blow it out. You may need a printer repair person to come out and take it apart to look for possible stuck paper.

Paper pulls to right and then jams up printer

I once had this problem after I printed labels. Part of the sticky label got caught in the corner of the printer. Hopefully you can find out what it stuck in there and pull it out with the tweezers. If the problem isn't caused by that, you may have to take it into a repair shop.

Paper is getting jammed hence not printing

Sounds like somthing is caught in the left hand side try looking in it with a flashlight and see if you can see somthing stuck like a twistie tie/sticky label/ staple / sticky tape.... If its in far try using a ruler or a few pieces of paper stacked together to dislodge it.

Constantly jams

Xerox has some good information on their web site regarding troubleshooting problems with their printers. I'd first suggest you visit there for help. As for general jam problems, try to determine where the paper is jamming. If it is a feed problem, for example, you can clean the feed rollers with Isopropyl Alcohol or run them over the sticky side of clear packing tape to clean them. If the paper is folding or getting stuck somewhere, look for what might be blocking it. I've seen this happen when one page jams and the page is torn and part is left in the printer. I've also seen situations where labels were put through the printer and some got free and stuck to the inside of the printer causing jams. If you can provide a bit more detail on where the jam is located, we can help you find the cause.
