My Siemens Surpresso S75 had the same problem, it also gave a message to fill the pipe but when i hit the button water came out the nozzle. There is a water flow sensor inside the machine that was stuck so the machine thinks that it doesn't have any water in the pipe. The sensor i quite cheap, like 20$, but you have to take the whole machine apparat to get to the sensor, which is located near the water tank. Is a round white piece with two hoses and a couple of wires going into it.

I ordered the sensor, but while i waited for it to arrive i was able to fix my old one by taking it appart and freeing up the stuck impeller inside.

Error 8 indicates a technical fault. Try switching off the main switch for about 1 minute and then start it up again. If the error message persists, you will have to have the machine serviced. The most common fault would be that the machine is blocked.

You have to either get a new drainage valve or buy a "DIY" set
or the big set - you can just as well change all o-rings while you are at it.

I would also change the grinding stones (or whatever it is called in english...)
