Question about Maytag Performa PAV2200

1 Answer

Water out of washing machine.

My drain hose always seems to let water leak at the wall connection.  I have tried stuffing cloth and paper towels in there to block the water from coming out all over the floor.

Re: water out of washing machine.

Sounds like the machine is not at fault. The problem is probably the pipework that takes the water out of the building, it could be made up with lime & wash powder residue. Try running some water into the wall outlet pipe, & see if it overflows, if it does you need to dismantle & clean it

Water leaking from my Maytag Neptune model FAV6800AWW Serial number 15646382GA Leaks during wash cycle imediately and during complete cycle. Enough water to saturate 2-3 towels and clothes come out...

Could be a Tub Seal leak my 1st choice. Could also be a leak caused by a cracked outer tub, issues from the hoses from the drain line connections to the drain pump, drain pump and or drain line.

Are you going to try to DIY the fix?

Check the hoses on the back and see if there are leaks, there are three hoses, one for hot water, one for cold water and one is a drain. The drain is the big hose. Also check the water drain hose and make sure it is firmly secured to the drain in the wall behind the washer.

Water seems to be coming from underneath

Check that your drain hose is fully inserted into the wall/floor drain. then run an empty load with just water and watch it during the drain cycle to see if either the drain is backing up or if it's not fully connected at the back of the washer. if the drain is backing up you can try a drain sn ake available at most hardware stores and that will most likely clear it. If it's leaking at the connection at the back of the washer try to push it in fully or replace the hose altogether. It's not the water inlets because they always have pressure on them and would leak constantly. or you could have a cracked basket in which case you will be better to buy a new machine. cracked baskets don't happen very often though. And once in a blue moon it could be an off balance issue where its actually splashing out. Either way you need to spend some quality time with your washer and see why it's crying =]
Good luck!

Water is not draining. I did pull out the washer drain hose and cleared but still not draining. Appears stuck in cycle. Water is sitting in the washer

Hi Friend, welcome to fixya.... This happens sometimes, usually when you stuff too many towels or clothes in the machine. Next time it happens, open the machine, and rearrange the clothes/towels with your hands.

Then turn the machine back on and start it where it left off, not simply popping the button back on, but turning it all around through a cycle and setting the button where you left it on 'rinse'. If it doesn't work simply by rearranging the clothes, pull out one or two wet towels and try again.

If it is due to over stuffing, the rinse cycle should drain and go into spin normally. If this doesn't work then call a maintenance person. It would be awful to have spent money only to find out from the maintenance man that it was an over stuffed machine the whole time;)

I have never liked my lg and now it seems that

You might check the water inlet valve on the back of the machine where the water hooks up. There should be a blue plastic water valve. remove the water hose on both sides hot and cold. At the blue water inlet valve inside the connector there are small filtering screens (similar to an areator valve on your sink faucet) They may be clogged by sediment and this would cause your low water issue and possibly the smell. Simply pull out the screens with a pair of needle nosed pliers and replace. Hope this helped

We think we overloaded the machine with bath mats and since then the water did not drain and the machine does not work any more. All buttons are flashing.

your pump is totaly clogged with the math matt sand
you should be able to access the pump from the rear wall,
bring towels you will loose water

remove both hoses from the pump and ensure they are clear, wash the drain hose completly run water through it

make sure you pump is clean and free
to spin

reassemble and and plug back in

errors should clear

Intermittent water on floor

Check the inlet valve hoses, even if inlet is at the back, the water may drip down and flow on the front part on the machine. There you also have the PUMP, a faulty pump may leak intermittently.

Clothes washer leaking

First of all, check to make sure the drain hose is inserted properly in the drain pipe in your wall. Second, if that's not the problem, check to make sure the drain hoses inside the machine are tightly connected and not cracked. Tighten or replace as necessary.
