If the motor is not smelling of burning or making strange noises I would think you have a problem with mains lead having an internal short circuit. Replacing mains lead should sort this.
If motor is smelling or not sounding correct then you need a new motor.

I have a Sebo Automatic X1. It had been working well for years. Suddenly last week it blew the 5A plug fuse. I replaced it and that also blew. Do you have any clues?

You are correct!
The smaller PCB is a voltage regulator!
Is actually one of the condensers who shorted out but will be very hard for you to actually find and replace it !
You can find it the "old fashion way"!! by puling the fuse out and using a screwdriver (make sure it have an insulated handle!) short out the ends of the fuse holder for 1-3 seconds. The part who is shorted out will start to smoke out . You replace that part or preferably the entire board .

Why is my VAX 121 blowing my fusebox ?

"Blowing" FusesWhen a fuse blows, replace it with an identical [same Amperage rating] new fuse.

IF the replacement fuse also blows, then that is an indication that there is either a short circuit condition in that circuit, OR you have an overload condition due to too many electricity using devices connected to that circuit, or one that draws too much electrical current [current is measured in Amperes (Amps), or milliamps (thousandths of an Amp)].

The fix" for repeatedly blowing fuses is to troubleshoot the circuit involved, find and identify the fault, properly repair it, and then install another good fuse

I have 2 cotton candy machines. One says 25 amps and the other says 30 amps on it. I would like to take either one of them to parties at people's houses, but am afraid of blowing fuses. Is there...

Hi marieu2005..
The only way to avoid blowing breaker or fuses is to ask the person do they have an available 25/30 amp socket, and you need it to fit the plug you have on your machine.

Shredder does not power on

Good day!!!!

please try to check the plug if it is OK..

Then look for the fuse if busted...

If the fuse is busted look at the fuse if only disconnect the wire inside so that you can determine the cause of blowing of fuse..if the fuse is dark or have color black inside your machine have a short circuit..if not got fluctuate high current in split second (that is normal)..just replaced the fuse with the same type and ratings..

If the fuse always blows after power ON your machine need further repair it have short circuit..

Thanks for using fixya...

I have a Husqvarna Viking Designer sewing machine. The fuse blew in the machine and I am having trouble finding a replacement fuse. It is a T3.5/250v glass fuse. Please let me know where to find one. I...

That fuse will work no problem. There is no harm in trying it.
The machine probably requires about 2 amps or less under normal operation.
Being a 3.0 amp slow blow fuse, it will withstand short bursts of extra current when your machine gets temporarily overloaded.

Just make sure the machine is properly lubricated and runs freely. The fuse will definitely blow if your machine should get jammed or something like that.

I think I know where I can score some. Cost of postage only. :)

Email me if you like.

Hi, be sure you are using the right amperage fuse in it. Check any exposed wires on it they may have got skinned up, causing a short and blowing this fuse. You say it gets hot when she gives it full power, so its blowing when its drawing the most amps under this high load. Check all of the connections at the batterys to make sure all connections are good and tight, this is very important on any thing that is electric. Good Luck,

When you start up the microwave oven it blows the power throughout the house.

You must have a faulty magnetron or a capacitor that is short and so blows the fuse or trips the circuit.
You need to open the cabin to check the short on the capacitor, remove wire in the HT and check.
Please attempt only if you are familiar, if not take help/

My CLICK Multi Functional Rechargeable Torch model number CLKRT 100 has fully discharged and it will not recharge. It is 4 week since purchase. What can I do to over come this problem? Thank you

I bought 2 more torches after finding how good the first one was. One failed after a few months, but I had no trouble getting a refund from Bunnings when they couldn't replace it - after all, they are legally obliged to replace or refund if it fails under 1 year old. Today the second one failed, so it wasn't just bad luck! I took the advice of criss994 and opened it up (you need a special screwdriver) - sure enough, the fuse had blown. Soldering a physically larger one in (M205 - 20mm long by 5mm diameter - I didn't have the 10mm x 3.6mm replacement) was fiddley but there is enough room. The original fuse is a fast-blow 1-amp rated one - so perhaps the induction coil feeding the torch causes a surge, as the unit is rated at only 1/100th of an amp. My replacement is a slow-blow 630mA fuse - it should overcome any surge problem.

It will not turn on

first of all you need to check probable causes, make sure there is power to the electrical socket , try something you know that works, if this appliance works the next step would be to try the fuse in the plug , replace old fuse with new and to be sure to use correct amperage , too small it will blow fuse too large it could blow appliance. If this fails then its sure to be a component of which a competant electrician / service repairer should be sought.

hope this helps.
