Yamaha psr e413

PSR E413 will not work with ac power but works ok with batteries. I checked the ac power inlet jack which is well soldered although it wobbles a little . I also checked the power charger and it seems to be alright too. any idea?

No power to the switch but will power up with batteries

Hello,

One of two most common possibilities are a non-functioning AC adapter or keyboard AC adapter connector next to the Power On Switch has a cold solder joint and does not pass voltage.

Yamaha 9000pro, Ps is ok but unit will not boot

You may need to perform a factory reset operation. Turn power off, hold down the DEMO button and turn the keyboard back on. The
screen should display 'Setup is initialising'. This will disappear after a few seconds and the screen will display its default. If that does not work you may need to re-install program disks, I think you should have 6 of them

HP dv6000 laptop not charging problem, adapter, battery and power jack looks like it works fine

If your battery, charger, and DC Jack are ok, then the most common problem is the surface mount transistors on your HP's main board called MOSFET's. They are small 30V N channel 8 pin components soldered to the main board. The boards also have transistor circuits which switch back and forth between a charging and discharging state. However these rarely ever fail. The MOSFETS fail because of the thermal loads which they must endure. Although some notebooks (like the Gateway I'm currently on) have a DC jack which serves dual purpose of supplying DC 19V AND connecting/disconnecting charging circuit. However your HP dv6K does not.
However it's worth mentioning that these models have had all sorts of problems...most notably poor thermal design to begin with that usually creates solder connection problems with the main chipset especially on AMD models. Good luck.. :)

Dead keys yamaha psr e413 keyboard

Dead keys on Yamaha PSR e413 keyboard: Flip keyboard upside down, remove cover screws (use marked cardboard template to remember where they came out), spray suspect key-contacts with fast-drying contact cleaner, (usually a PCB with a matrix of contacts under keys), re-assemble base cover, wiggle faulty keys as far as possible to 'scrub' any dirt or oxidization. If this cleaning trick doesn't work, get a pro to check it.

Is not charging battery

If the laptop works with the AC Adapter Power Cord ok without any problems except the battery is not charging, then the battery is dead. Batteries only have a useful life, then they have to be replaced.

If the laptop does not work with the AC Adapter Power Cord then either the Power Cord is bad or the DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop is bad. If either of these is bad, a good battery will not charge.

Check your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

The battery might be dead. Batteries only have a useful life and after that they have to be replaced.

Does your laptop work ok off the AC Adapter Power Cord? If so, your battery is dead and your power cord is good. If the laptop does not work off the Power Cord then either your Power Cord is bad or the DC Power Jack where the power cord plugs into the laptop is bad. In either case a good battery will not charge if the power cord or the DC Jack is bad.

Check your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the compute. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. Faulty connection for AC power adapter on an 8 month old yamaha digital keyboard psr-e413

If the adapter is faulty I recommend replacing it with the exact one for your keyboard. Any Yamaha music dealer should have one. If it is the jack in the keyboard that the adapter plugs into that is faulty it can be fixed. It is soldered to the circuit board and the solder joint has likely failed. You will have to carefully disassemble the case and maybe take the circuit board out if the solder side isn't accessible. Once you can see the solder joint wiggle the jack to see where the break is. You will need to resolder it. If the jack is broken ( the center pin in the jack sometimes breaks) you will have to desolder it and take it to a good electronics store to obtain the correct replacement and then solder it in.

Doesn't run on ac power

That typically happens because the Fuses, they look like, zero ohm surface mount resistors, close by the power input jack, somewhere usually, have "Blown". Or sometimes it is the actual "Switch" inside the actual power jack, that some have, other times it can be the "Sensing" IC that "Sees" the battery, and "Talks" to the chip in the battery. and routes the power to the PC, battery or both. Use a meter and check for open circuits. Also look for cracks in the PCB traces by the jack, sometimes movement of said jack fractures the solder and that cause problems, sometimes just re-sweating the solder, on all the connections on the jack, again works wonders too. Acer 5100 laptop doesn't work on ac or charger battery

Motherboard is bad and will have to be replaced unless of course the AC Jack on the back of the laptop is loose. That would cause the ac adapter not to charge and then you would have to take the motherboard out and put solder on each leg on the bottom of the ac jack to make sure it stays in place then the ac adapter can charge the battery properly.

Even going thru the solder method the motherboard could still be bad and have nothing to do with the ac jack.
