There are several possible causes of this. The error is a drain fault and you should take the botton panel off the front and look for the drain plug. When you take the drain plug out. you will get lots of water so be ready. Then check the trap and filter and look in the drain to be sure that nothing is stuck. When that is all done, try it again. If you still have the same issue then it could be the drain pump is bad or the door lock switch is failing. There have even been issues with the frame bowing and causing this error. So check everything that you can including the drain hose for obstructions and if you can get the drain hose loose when it is draining, make sure there is flow.

Question: Front Load Washer - Error Code - F8 E1 or LO FL Answer Product Symptom:
Front Load Washer - Error Code - F8 E1 or LO FL

F8 E1 or LO FL Code in display:
No water detected entering washer after 13 minutes, the pressure switch input has not been detected.
If the washer has an F8 E1 error or LO FL error, the door will be locked, and the control will be unresponsive. The washer will start a drain routine which takes approximately 8 to 10 minutes, during which time the pump will run continuously. The control will not accept any input during this time. Please wait 10 minutes before trying to perform any functions.
Check the water supply:

Turn on the water. Check the household water supply to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Make sure to open both faucets completely for proper fill.

NOTE: Both Hot and Cold water must be supplied to the washer.

Whirlpool recommends that appliances be direct connected to the water supply for optimum machine performance.
If a "flood saver" device is being considered:
  • Check with the manufacturer of the device to ensure it will not affect the performance of the appliance.

  • Whirlpool has experienced that "flood safety" devices can interfere with the performance of the appliance. Whirlpool typically does not recommend these devices.
Two types of "flood-saver" devices, hoses and valves are illustrated below. anti%20flood%20hose%202.jpeg floodsafe%203.jpeg Whirlpool Duet Washer F8 Code Appliance Repair Forum

Washer pulls in dirty water through drain hose

Hi Les,

Yes there is an easy way to resolve this. The way that a washer hose is intended to be rigged is the hose goes HIGHER than the machine itself. The reason is there is NOT a valve that keeps water from running out that hose, only the fact that the hose is routed so high.
So, this discharge hose then typically has a 180 degree bend and then about 4 to 10 inches of hose. THIS end of the hose is intended to fit LOOSELY into a plumbed drain line. Because the hose fits loosely into the drain line, that provided the required air break that prevents siphoning.
This "plumbed drain line" must have a "p" trap in it or sewer gases will fill back into the house.

Top 10 frontload washer problems

1)Water fill problem: water took more than 10 minutes to fill to desired level sometimes indicated as a LF/IE or long fill/inlet error. Water valve screens clogged, hoses kinked, low water pressure, unpaid water bill. Check hose, clean screens.
2)Excessive vibration: noisey, roar, knocking noises. Bad damper, bearing or broken trunnion. no error code
3)Dispenser drawer open/detergent in wrong compartment: washer will not operate with drawer open or cleaning products in wrong compartment.
4)Washer won't drain: clogged pump/filter, slow or clogged drain usually indicated as a LD/DE, if a code is given (long drain/drain error) Clear pump of objects
5)Drum overfilled: usually caused by sediment in the water level pressure sensing tube going up to the main control.Find it and blow out the sediment, re-secure pump out water and retry.
6)Door open, Door not latched, clothes/objects keeping door from completely closing. Tighten door latch, add washers if nessisary to make good contact and close door tighter in case of leaks.Note some models send a signal to the motor and another to the control letting both know the door is secure before proceeding, corrosion gets into the lid lock and the door can be locked and the control is ready but the motor ain't getting the message.
7)Cold water does not enter washer: hoses connected backwards. Oops.
8)Oversudsing: Wrong Detergent, too much detergent, detergent in wrong dispensing drawer, turbidity monitors pick up particles in the water and judge soil content then the washer allows for extra time to wash the clothes, if the wrong detergent is in there the machine thinks that is too much and declares a suds error. On some models a suds detect is determined by the motor over amping, most machines will try a few mini loads to correct the problem. Remove detergent, retry
9)Locked motor: error LE,loose connection,broken wire/hallsensor, motor overheated/failed.
10)Water heating error, hE, the thermister/heater is out.

Either you have too much of the correct detergent in there or the wrong detergent in there. Here are a few of the errors:
1)Water fill problem: water took more than 10 minutes to fill to desired level sometimes indicated as a LF/IE or long fill/inlet error. Water valve screens clogged, hoses kinked, low water pressure, unpaid water bill. Check hose, clean screens.
2)Excessive vibration: noisey, roar, knocking noises. Bad damper, bearing or broken trunion. no error code

WHAT DOES ERROR CODE 10 MEAN/FOR FRIDGIDARE FT.load washer

The E10 error indicates a long fill error, meaning the machine thinks it took to long to fill with water.
Recommend you check that the drain tube is not stuck too far into the stand pipe possibly causing a siphoning problem, and that the screens on the water valve inlet are cleaned and not slowing the water flow. You can hook the drain hose off, force water through it with a water hose, unclog the stinky mess and hook it back up again and work it.. that would do it...

I found out the hard way. The GE WCVH6260 fron loading washing machine has a terrible design flaw. There is a 'filter' that sits right in front of the discharge pump. This filter clogs with lint, coins, hair, dollar bills ... etc about every 3-4 months. When it 'clogs', the pump cannot '****' the dirty water through the gunk. As a result, you have nasty, stale water (forever) preventing dirty water from being flushed. What's worse is that since the dirty water cannot leave, you wind up washing/rinsing your 'clean' clothes with dirty water. It is easy to fix.

When looking at the front of your washing machine, there is a rectangular panel at the bottom. Remove the 3 screws (left, right and center) and pull down on the panel. It slides off easy. Right in front of you is a 3" cap. MAKE SURE TO HAVE A LARGE POT TO CATCH THE SLOP BEFORE YOU LOOSEN THE CAP. Remove the cap and pull out. (I took out 'gunk' the size of a tube of racket balls (coins, hair, dollar bills .. etc). You will also see/smell what I mean by 'dirty water'

GE is a bunch of idiots. We have only had our machine 12 months. This is obviously 'regular maintenance' kind of stuff (kind of like periodically cleaning the lint filter on the washing machine) and GE doesn't even make the 3" cap accessible from the outside. I checked the manual and these problems are not even FAQ's in the manual:
* machine 'pauses' between every cycle (push start to continue)
* clothes smell musty
* water doesn't drain
* cycles (consistently) take longer than timer says
* clothes still soaking wet even after spin cycle ... etc)
