SOURCE: camera will not go on

If you push the power button and do not see any signs of life at all, it is most likely a blown fuse. In this model disassembly is required to replace the fuse, and it is soldered onto the main power board. If there are signs of life, but the camera does not function there are other explanations. Jammed lenses are the most common cause of power-on failure. Check with your manufacturer for recalls and warranty service information. Failing that you can find a repair provider online. SOURCE: Err CF

TRy and reformat the CF card through the camera. Youll lose the pics for sure but you cant see them anyway. You can also check for bent pins in the CF slot. Sometimes if you shut down the camera in mid write to the card, itll mess up the cards FAT (file directory)

SOURCE: camera was working fine...all of a sudden,it would not turn on...thought maybe battery was dead, tried to recharge it,light would not go on,tried another charged battery, still would not work

This error is either a flash circuit or a lens error. One of the two need replacement.

What is error 30 for t3.

Error 30 means "Malfunctions related to the shutter have been detected". Recharge the battery, remove and replace it after about 20 seconds, then do a reset to default settings through the camera menu. If it still won't work you'll need send it in for repairs.

There is a problem with the battery charger. See "Troubleshooting Guide" on page 242 of the manual: http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0300004730/02/eosrt3-eos1100d-im2-c-en.pdf

My Canon Camera 1100D after take 1 shot an err30 appear

Err30 indicates a problem with the camera shutter. Turn off the camera. Then remove the battery, take out the memory card, and then remove the lens. Clean the lens contacts and replace the lens (make sure that it is a Canon lens). Then replace the memory card and the battery. Then turn the camera back on.

If the error recurs, the camera needs service. Contact Canon.

I hope the problem is resolved by the above steps.

Canon Powershop A430 Digital Camera wont work with new batteries. I tried switching and used both alkaline and some regular ones but it keeps saying the batteries are low. How can I fix this?

Hi,
If the camera has a lens that extends when you power-on, it may have failed to park completely when power went off, due to the weak battery.

Gently press on the front of the lens barrel to attempt to seat the lens.
Then (with a good battery) turn-on the camera.

If you are currently using the NiMH AA rechargeable batteries, I would suggest you try standard Alkaline AA batteries. They have a bit more voltage than the NiMH and it might make a difference in this case.

If that does not work, you should phone Canon Service and see if they have any suggestions.
I am sure they have encountered this problem before.

Hope this helps,

We have a cannon a2000is. After replacing the batteries and printing the pictures off the memory card the camera will not come back on. The screen says Cannon and the indicator light blinks for aprox 20...

It sounds like a low power startup. Are you sure the batteries that you are installing are good? If they're Dollar Store "Super Heavy Duty" batteries, that's likely your problem (shelf life has been exceeded).
Recommend trying to start the camera with premium alkaline, or best yet, rechargeable batteries (they have the most power, and save you money too!). If the above doesn't work, recommend contacting Canon, especially if your camera is less than a year old. The camera in that case would be eligible for warranty repair.

Battery Problem

I figured out the problem. My AA battery recharger was not making good contact, so although it said the batteries were recharged, this was not the case. After fixing this and getting full recharges, the problem went away.
