SOURCE: when I look through the viewfinder of my camera I see blue streak

This isn't really a solution, but when I check "I have  similar problem", it takes me to a different page all together. The first time I heard about a blue glow in the viewfinders of late-model Maxxums was in reading an eBay guide written by J.D. Katz. I didn't really believe him until my own Maxxums started doing it. Apparently Maxxums 3, 4, 5, GT, QTsi, STsi, HTsi, XTsi and probably the 50 and 70 are susceptible. All were assembled in either Malaysia or China and all have penta-mirror viewfinders. Both my Maxxum 5 and my XTsi just recently started doing it: the 5 has sapphire-blue streaks on either side of the viewfinder; the XTsi's viewfinder has just a faint blue haze. Probably some coating on the glass inside the viewfinder is breaking down with age. It's a shame because they are otherwise excellent cameras. While it is an annoyance, it is confined to the viewfinder and should not affect the images taken. Probably won't have much luck getting Sony to do anything about it either, since they're film cameras and they're getting old....

SOURCE: Don't know how to open door latch on nikon 35mm SLR camera

You haven't stated which model you have, but generally most SLR's open by pulling upwards on the film rewind crank (the knob on the left side of the top-plate as viewed from behind). If this doesn't work then add the exact model as a comment to my answer and I'll try to give you specific instructions for your model.

SOURCE: Image through nikon f80 dark and cloudy

I'm unfamiliar with the F80 but on models like the f65 and f75 the viewfinder screen has an lcd overlay and when the battery is exhausted or removed the viewfinder goes dark and blurry.

Looking at a picture of the f80 it looks like it's just an update on my f75 so it strongly suggests that you just need to insert a fresh battery. The lcd does draw power from the battery even with the camera turned off.

I hope that you found my answer useful, once you've tried another battery to confirm what I've suggested I'd appreciate it if you return the favour by rating my answer.

N70 body clear plastic (flips up and down) has major scratch. Doesn't affect photo, but makes composition difficult when looking through the eyepiece.

Is the focusing screen scratched, or is it the mirror? You can buy a replacement focusing screen for about $25 on eBay. Removing and installing the screen is an easy task that you can do without any tools.

In p and ps modes on nikon n70 screen flashes F E E and will not take pictures. I do not recognize this error message

Check that you have the aperture ring on the lens set to minimum aperture, biggest f stop number. It should lock in that position, and there may be a small button to keep it locked there.

Nikon should have a down loadable manual available for this model.

Photos are coming out foggy.

It could be. One way to attempt to find out would be to take a picture with the lens cap on. You'll have to go to Manual mode and take a guess as to the exposure. I would also investigate the possibility of a dirty lens. If you have another lens, try that and see what the pictures look like.

I assume you're not using expired film, nor subjecting the film to extreme heat or humidity.
