You could try a manual reset by doing the following:

  1. Unplug the power of your printer
  2. press and hold the power button
  3. Plug in the power while holding the power button
  4. then using a pen, press the Cover detection button (this button is pressed every time you close the cover, this button tells the printer if the cover is open or not. you will need to use a pen or any object that can reach the button since you cannot close the cover while holding the power button.)
  5. release the power button
  6. release the cover detection button
  7. close the cover and turn your printer on.

Keyboard/Hinge Cover with Power Button Bezel,,1_97_102/language,en_US/osCsid,8d147ed2c28ef93651edc40940d868e7

The Power On switch is not part of this small cover. The Power On button that you see, is merely a little button cover. The actual switch is under it, and mounted to the laptop.

[ The Power On switch is a Momentary Contact Switch.
Much like this example of an ATX power on switch, ]

Removal and Replacement of the Hinge Cover with Power On bezel:

1) Remove ALL power to the laptop. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) This strip cover pops up. It has small plastic protrusions, or tabs molded on the outside edges.
These tabs snap into place in the Palm Rest Cover.

I use a small flat tip Jewelers screwdriver, and ease up on the end opposite of the Power On button. Then carefully go along the edges.
Replacement is to just line it up, and snap back into place.

Advent t9307 power switch not working

Your laptop's power button sits directly on top of a device called a power button board. This is a small circuit board where all power and control buttons interface with your laptop's motherboard. The repetitive use of the power and control buttons can damage the power button board. Repairing your power button means removing and replacing the power button board, which requires partial disassembly of your laptop.

1.Power down your laptop. Unplug the AC power adapter and all external devices from the computer. Close the laptop's LCD panel and place the laptop face down. Rotate the laptop so the front opening edge is facing you. Remove the battery pack from its compartment on the laptop's bottom side.

2.Flip the laptop over, and pull open the display panel as far as possible. Use a thin, flat-head screwdriver to pry the keyboard cover from the laptop. The keyboard cover is the plastic piece situated above the keyboard assembly that houses the power button board.

3.Lift the keyboard cover out of the laptop slightly, and disconnect the cables extending from the power button board to the motherboard. Remove the keyboard cover from the laptop.

4.Place the keyboard cover face down on a flat surface. Remove the Phillips-head screws fastening the power button board to the cover, and remove it. If your speakers are situated inside the keyboard cover, disconnect the speaker cables from the power button board before removing it.

5.Place the new power button board inside the keyboard cover. Align the screw holes on the button board with the holes on the keyboard cover. Replace the Phillips-head screws fastening the button board to the keyboard cover. Reconnect the speaker cables to the button board, if necessary.

6.Reconnect the power button board's main cable to the motherboard. Place the keyboard cover back inside the slot above the keyboard assembly. Press down on the cover until it snaps into place. Replace the battery pack and reconnect all cables.

How do you disable the PTT button on the Samsung Rugby? I do not use Push to Talk, but I keep getting the "Would you like to initialize PTT service?" question every time I accidentally hit the PTT button....

Stick your fingernail or a thin blade between the button cover toward the front side of phone. Pry it out just like would the charge port cover. Cut off the protruded part of the button cover (this is the pusher stick that activates the real button), and then press the button back in place.

Now the button is no more but looks functional, the only caveat is that if you suddenly decided you want PTT to work, your button is dead unless you can aquire a new button cover somehow.

Doesn't power on

Button integrated in cover was slightly bended, for that reason the outside button was not able to push the inside button.

I removed the cover by putting my nails in between the body and the front cover and pull.

Inside the phone I was able to push the very small black button with my nail.

Good luck!
