Question about Boost Mobile Kyocera Hydro Smartphone

1 Answer

Screen has lines through it

I have tried turning the phone off, taking the battery out and then turning on after a while and it is not going away. I can still use the screen but there are lines going through the whole screen, a factory reset did not work either. It did not come in to contact with water or get dropped or anything. How do I get these lines to go away?

Try this, but this wll also wipe all data from your phone. so back up your stuff first

Step 1 Power down the Kyocera Hydro smartphone. If the phone is frozen, pull out the battery, wait a few seconds and reinstall it to ensure the phone is off.
Step 2
Press and hold the "Volume Down" button and then hold down the "Power" button.
Step 3
Release the buttons after a few seconds when you see the Android System Recovery screen.
Step 4
Press the "Volume Down" button to highlight "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" and then press the "Power" button to select it.
Step 5
Select "Yes -- Delete All User Data."
Step 6
Select "Reboot System Now" to complete the reset.

You may need to adjust your contrast. After turning the calculator on, press the 2nd button and then hold down the down arrow. This will lighten the screen if the contrast is the problem.

If this doesn't work, you might try resetting your calculator. Take out the backup battery that is located behind a little door with a screw right above the 4 AAA batteries. Leave all batteries out for about 8 hours and then reassemble. Hopefully when you turn it on, this will work. Good luck

Press "menu" (the key with the 3 lines) and "L" - this will bypass the activation screen. You will need to do this every time you turn the phone on, though.

"New Voice Mail" stuck on screen.

Called GE. Here's what's happening (at least with my phone). I use VONAGE as a carrier. VONAGE's package includes voicemail. I have my VONAGE voicemail account set up to take any call that comes in if the answering machine on my GE phone does not pick up -- for instance if I'm on the phone and I do not "flash" over to the incoming call, that caller will eventually be sent to my VONAGE voicemail where they can leave a message. (Otherwise I would either take the call, or, if not already in use, the GE phone/answering system1.gif would simpy take the message.) This GE phone is commucating with my VONAGE account and letting me know that I have a mesage in my VONAGE account voicemail. All I have to do is either go online and delete the messages (after listening to them of course) and refresh the page. Once the messsages are deleted, the carrier lets my phone know the messages are gone and the NEW VOICE MAIL prompt on the handset disappears. I suppose I can do it by listening to the messages by calling in and deleting through the touch pad on the phone as well.
