Question about Canon PC-941 Copier

Open Question

Copier has a screeching noise when gears are moving and a copy is being made. Otherwise o.k. It is older but has operated flawlessly and just fits my operation!

The unit sounds like a gear or part is rubbing against something. Or, a bearing, bushing or schimn is worn. Unit does seem to run a little slower alsol

Hey, if you can adjust the coro wires on a NP 6035 you're a freaking miracle worker. Since the 6035 uses charge rollers instead of wires.

When you replace the drum on a 6035 you need to enter the "pri" and "IP_ofst" printed on the drum lable into the service mode *3*. (service mode is entered by opening the door, and poking a paperclip into the tiny hole in the front cover till you see a $ sign on the display. ) After entering those values you need to run APVC_MR in service mode *4*. If the copy quality is still off (and you have performed the obvious maintenance items like cleaned the glass and the mirrors) then go back into service mode *3* and adjust the bias. Factory setting for the bias is "0" but you may need to adjust it to -10 or lower. DO NOT adjust the lamp, PRI of light_5 for copy quality and reset those to the door or drum specs if they have been changed.

SOURCE: gear grinding noise when copier operating

wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be a toner cartridge. Have you had to replace it sine the noise began? Is it remanufactured / compatible? I won't be surprised if the grinding stops once it's replaced. Just my 2 cents.

SOURCE: (CODE E100-001 ) I had problems with a Canon CLC

If an error code of E061 or E100 is experienced, check the shutter operation and the pin on the Primary Fan Duct Assembly.
If the pin is broken, it should be replaced. The pin can be replaced by replacing the Primary Fan 2 Duct.
canon errors point to the same cause in different models, please visit here for further guide especially BD unit.

Cluth is making a loud screeching noise when changing gear and when starting the car up.

Is it squeeling or a sound like metal to metal as if it squeels, then perhaps your alternator is getting bad or your serp belt, if its the other than perhaps your clutch maybe going start with the clutch flywheel hope that helps

When I press the black or colour copy button on the printer the page comes out blank. The printer works normally otherwise.

Check scan head movement while copying/scanning..if its not moving check scan head gear assm any breakage? replace it. If its moving properly and giving blank image scan head faulty(which is moving forward & revers wile scanning or copying) replace it..

I hear a screeching sound at the beginning, the paper rolls out smoothly but no copy is made

In most cases I would start with the drum/toner cartridge. Sounds like one of them is locked up! If you have a spare cartridge for either, try replacing it. Toner cartridges will lock up if the have been exposed to high heat conditions. Drum cartridges will flip the drum blade and usually give you a noise plus balck or very dirt copies, so I would look at the oner cartrige first. Remove it and see if you can turn any of the gears by hand. Good luck! Oh, and make sure you have either unit over a drop cloth or paper or something other than your nice white/tan carpet, cause they will both drop toner on you!

Getting harder and harder to place into gear. Also, when the clutch is disengaged (pedal down), I will hear a louder noise, sounds like something is rubbing on something

It seems like the clutch pressure plate has gone, not releasing the clutch plate once the pedal is operated.
The noise you hear, is it a screeching one or is it like the gears rubbing eachother.
If its a screeching noise thn its the release bearing and if its a heavier grinding noise thn its the gears.
Guess you will have to replace the clutch pressure plate, its highly recomended though to replace the pro-kit,i.e the clutch plate, pressure plate and the release bearing.
Good luck.

Canon IR1600 Loud Screeching Noise During Copying

There are some little metal earth strips that meet the paper exit shaft at the fromt of the machine. I've had a couple of these digging intot he metal exit roller shaft, they just needed bending away from the shaft anbit and oiling. It also helps if you move the exit roller shaft from front to back a bit.

Canon copier PC720

A E2 code deals with the scanner. The optics of the copier. Has itbeen moved resently? Your lens may be off it's track. Turn the copier off and remove the copy board glass and the Black Box and try to move the lens and the scanning mirrors to see if they can move smoothly. If not you have found your cause of the noise and what needs to be repaired. It may not be worth getting fixed. That is older model, it's up to you..

A technician should look at this. There could be a gear going bad on it. Ive see a fee cases where the drum gets bad and cant turn any more.

Are there error codes on the screen?

Make sure the right door where the bypass tray is closed all the way.
