If you have another HDMI port or A/V cable available on your TV, you don't have to unplug the cable box from the TV. You'll only need to connect the Roku to the vacant Input ports (HDMI or A/V) and change the input source of the TV accordingly.

SOURCE: new router now roku box does not work

Hi,

Are other devices able to connect? If not, then you're probably entering an incorrect password or you're trying to connect to the wrong network.

Hope this helps

If you plug into the box and TV with the composite plugs then you need to change inputs. Your TV is currently set to use HDMI. You need to change the source with your remote.

How do i connect many devices (sky box X 2, bt box, etc) to 4 tvs in public house

You will only be allowed to watch 1 channel at a time if you have one box and use coax cable. If you have WI-FI using a sling box and roku (apple TV) adapters you can change the channel at each location but you still will only be able to watch one channel but you could watch the channels available on Roku. Best solution, and also the most expensive , is to have a cable box at each loaction.

You didn't say which Roku you have, so I will assume you have a Roku 3 since it's the only one without RCA output jacks (the red, white, and yellow jacks you mention). You can return the Roku 3 and get a Roku 2. You can only attach the Roku to a switching box if 1) the Roku has the RCA outputs and your switch has A/V inputs. If you DO have the Roku 3, then you may be able to purchase a HDMI to RCA cable from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-RCA-VGA-Cable-1-8m/dp/B002ZUI68G

Using Roku 3 with HDMI cable to stream to TV, is there a way to get an audio out signal (either from the TV or Roku box) to connect to an analog stereo receiver

Your tv should have a couple different audio out options, but you can not just plug in a wire and make it work. You will have to use your remote to go into your settings on the tv and select an external speaker before it will actually send the signals out.

WE JUST BOUGHT ROKU , HOOKED IT UP , CAN'T GET ANYTHING ELSE TO COME UP

Hi,

You must match the TV's input connections and the Roku output on your remote. This means if the Roku's output is connected to your TV's "HDMI 2" (or A/V 2, etc.), you must be able to select HDMI 2 (or A/V 2, etc) on the TV - either with your remote or pressing a button on the TV itself.

Sometimes, the TV will skip over unused inputs when it was first set up. This is done to reduce the number of button presses to go from say "HDMI 1" to "HDMI 4" by programming OUT the HDMI 2 & HDMI 3 choices.

You'll need to program IN the input that your TV uses to connect the Roku if it isn't already available. You MUST connect cables properly if not using HDMI. RGB is Red-Green-Blue and must be connected to RGB jacks at the Roku and TV for a picture and the the White & Red (left and right) audio must connect the the corresponding Red / White audio jacks - or it will provide strange results.

Make sure the power plug is connected to an outlet that is ON and connected to the power jack on the Roku box itself. Unless you have a defective Roku box or TV, it SHOULD work. You can try using a different HDMI or A/V jacks on the TV to determine if it is the TV jacks or not.

Good luck!

How do I connect roku 2xs to sony trinitron tv

If your Tv does not have the HDMI port you can use the RCA cables. If your Tv does not have the RCA video/audio ports you will need an adapter from Radio Shack for hooking up a video camera to a cable Tv. This adapter will allow you to hook the Roku to the adapter with the RCA cables, then the adapter hooks to the Tv with a cable just like a cable box. This adapter is also a pass through for other devices like a cable box and or another DVD player. Hope this helps FixYa up.
