When copying on my Epson WF 3520 printer a grey background is appearing which does not happen if i print from my laptop? Help? Thanks Eddie

Hi Eddie

When scanning/copying make sure you close the lid and if you are still getting the grey edges place a heavy book on top of the lid as it sounds like there is light getting onto the scan plate. Also make sure there is no cleaning residue on the glass plate as it needs to be kept clean.

Door will not stay closed when pushed down

Clearly the catch is jammed or broken. My daughter has the same trouble but the machine doesn't warrant repair costs and it plays well as long as a heavy book is placed on the door to keep it closed.

I instaled a new bulb after the projector took a bit of a fall, Now i have a shodow around images on the screen, How do i get rid of them please ?

hi
if the projector has been dropped, chances are that the optics inside would have got shifted / broken.
you ned to open the optical assembly to do a quick check
you may also shale the projector before opening, perhaps u will hear broken glass noise
if you are lucky, you may have to just refit the reflective glasses back to its original place

There is a broken piece that is in the lens that obstructs projection. Not sure if opening up will be possible for removal.

you can openit up. remove the scres from the bottom and unclip the front plate. you should be able to remove the top cover now. if that obstruction happens to be a rectangle piece of mirror, your light tunnel has collapsed and needs to be replaced. if it is a colored piece of glass, you colorwheel is broken. if you need to replace either piece, you can get one from av solutions in ny. they're an infocus service center and they're really good. www.avsolutionsny.com

I need to replace the glass cooktop on my Maytag electric stove

  1. Open oven door and remove two screws that secure top.
  2. Lift up front and slide forward about 8 inches so that you can disconnect two wire couplings.
  3. Place on table upside down(I put newspaper down to catch the broken shards of glass) and remove burner unit (1piece, 4 screws).
  4. Place old burners on new stovetop in the same position as original.
  5. Remove 4 white plastic shims (round) from old stovetop and put on new stovetop.
  6. Tighten all screws and then sit it back on stove (two front tabs fit into slots) and then insert screws into holes and tighten.
  7. Took about 20 minutes, including vacuuming broken glass from inside burners and cleaning grease form crevices between burners and old stovetop.
  8. Wrap old stovetop in the newspapers that are underneath it and place it all in a plastic garbage bag to avoid any broken glass from falling out.

Left hinge is broken on HP officejet 6210

Let me know if you find a source for replacements. In the mean time, I kept my unit working by just removing the broken top half of the hinge.
You have to remove 5 screws using a TORX T10 screwdriver. First remove the small plate covering the back of hinge on the outside. Then remove the two vertical screws at the top of the hinge up under the hinge lip. Then open the cover (be careful to hold it in place so as not to damage the three flex connections between the lid and body) and remove the other two screws at the top of the hinge. Remove the broken top half of the hinge and lower the cover back down. Until you find a replacement hinge, you can put a piece of heavy duty tape on the back where the hinge was.

Need to replace the passenger side mirror, glass only. does anybody know if the plastic backing plate the mirror is attached to pops out of the holder? If it does, it would make it easier to fit the new...

Just replaced the mirror glass myself. Don't have all the answers but can tell you this much.

The passenger side mirror on my 2004 Odyssey was hit by a projectile which caromed off the upper door frame. Left standing was a functional mirror base (motor driven part which has four, short, horizontally mounted rods) still attached to the mirror shroud and a separate assembly of the mirror glass and plastic mount.

I purchased the mirror glass alone online from a Honda dealer, removed the old mirror glass from the mount, and mounted the new mirror to the mount. To do this, look at the tabs which hold the mirror to the mount, and slide the mirror across the mount in the obvious direction. It will take some force. I had the benefit of having the mount/mirror glass blown out of the mirror shroud so it wasn't too difficult. If the broken mirror is still mounted to the mount and inside the shroud, push the bottom of the mirror inward so the top edge of the mirror can clear the top of the shroud. Then pull up on the mirror glass to slide it off the mount. This will take some force but fortunately, the mirror glass is already broken so you don't have to be gentle. Wear gloves or protect you hands while doing this.

Reverse the process for install the new mirror glass.

Now for my key tip. I had to remount the plastic mount/mirror glass assembly onto the motorized mirror base. I could see that it snapped in, with proper alignment, by pushing straight in. I applied quite a bit of force and simply could not get it to snap in place. My solution, was to put the assembly in a 200F oven for 15 minutes to heat the plastic to make it more flexible. Using paper towels to handle to avoid burns, I aligned the closures with the four, small, horizontally mounted rods, and with a moderate amount of force, the assembly snapped into place.

Hope this makes sense. I believe most people will only have broken mirror glass and not have the plastic mount with mirror glass come off the motorized base as I did.

Side mirror inside glass hanging ford explorer

it depends on whats 'hanging', if JUST the mirror glass has come off it's plastic backing plate, then yes you can silicone it back into place. If the mirror glass AND the plastic backing plate are hanging, you can try to 'snap' the backing plate back into the mirror head but most likely something inside is broken and the mirror head will have to be replaced. for a better idea on reinstalling or replacing a mirror see: www.burcinc.com and for aftermarket replacement mirror heads see: www.directauto.com
hope this helps.
