Question about Dishwashers
Our Frigidaire dishwasher (model: FDB1050RES2) pumps water in, but doesn't wash. I removed the kick plate and, while the wash light was on, tapped the motor and it turns on, but sounds rough and really struggles to stay on. It sort of sounds like a propeller plan losing power. It doesn't ever stay on, and the wash cycle never successfully works. When I cancel, it successfully drains water. Any ideas what to check?

When the water stops too soon, it could be the "over flow" is stuck in the downward position, therefore the dishwasher thinks it's going to over flow. Check that out. Otherwise I'm afraid this sounds like the circuit board is shot.

Try cleaning out the air gap. The air gap is not part of the machine, and is located on your sink. If this becomes clogged, it may cause the machine to not drain properly. Also, I know you said you checked the drain hose and cleaned as far as the filter and chopper blade, but have you checked the lower filter? There is a filter located underneath the machine that should periodically be cleaned. To check this, you need to access the machine from underneath by removing the bottom vanity cover. Hope that one of these helps!

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. First make sure that the drain is not clogged and remove clogs if present. If no visible lint is present then remove the lower front access panel to check the drain filter and drain pump for any clogs, you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump completely. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller & clean the chopper assembly. Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.
