Luckily, dryers are light. Best thing to do is pull it out until you can remove the back cover. (unplug it first) Then vacuum and clean all the dust and lint you can. This should be a yearly thing at least anyway. Replace the back plug it in and slid it back. I do mine every 6 months or so.

You can try using a metal hanger to hook it and pull it out, but be sure to unplug the dryer before you try. There is also a small pick-up tool about 2 feet long you can buy at hardware stores for picking up small items in tight places. Good luck fishing!

Bummer, been there, done that! Try fishing with a coat hanger, bent in a hook configuration. Otherwise, surgery is the only way to extract the sock. UNPLUG the machine before you do anything, just to be safe.
