Pinkish screen and green blurred picture

When I turn my Kodak Easyshare C643 on, the screen is pinkish and when I take a picture is is just blurred green drippy looking images.  There has been no damage to this camera and it has been used very little.  I purchased it August 2006.  Thanks

Can you suggest what I should do? Kodak will probably charge more than a new camera will cost. Is this something I may be able to fix myself? Thanks for what you have already done.

when i take pictures, the view finder goes blury, runny, weird colors, and the pictures turn out the same. i don't think it's the actual viewfinder, cause i can look at past pictures on the camera and they are fine, but when i review these new pics i take, they are all blurry and gross! :(

Sounds like the image sensor is malfunctioning (common symptoms: distorted images with purple or green cast, completely dark images, flickering lines across the screen.)

Do the pictures still look this way when they are downloaded to your computer or just when played back on the camera screen? Was the camera exposed to high heat (like being left in a hot car)?

The picture-taking display is unclear and pinkish

Check if this is in all the SCN.
If this is on the printed pics also or just on the LCD.

If this is an intermittedly problem if there is a pattern in the occurance.

White has turned pinkish

sounds like the linear adjustment is out of whack.....most projection type tvs, projection, lcd, plasma, have to be correctly aligned so that the color grids overlap each other to properly display the correct hue being created. you'd need the service code to re-adjust it, or have it serviced. also possible that one of the color grids is bad, but if you have all three (red, blue, green) colors showing on the entire screen area i would doubt it

When printing pictures, they are discolored

You are running low on your color ink cartridge. It cannot mix the primary colors right anymore and the color images start getting a pink-purple tinge to them. Get a new set of cartidges and install them and this should fix the problem fine. Hope this helps.

Try re-installing the Kodak software - sounds like the MPEG decoder is not functioning.

Kodak C643 Screen black

One way out of the glare is to use the optical viewfinder (if your camera has one) to preview your image instead of the LCD. Another possibility is to buy a camera that has a backlit LCD.
