How do you short short wash cycle

i would not advise to temper the switch or you will invalidate your warranty. depend on how your dial controller set you timing. use the shortest time cycle on your machine and soak your clothing overnight, then use cold water on short wash cycle.my wife does it all the time and separate the white and dark material will help a lot.

Will not rinse or spin

I have had similar situation with my top load washer over the years. It has been the timer 3 times and the water pump 1 time.
How I came up with it being the timer. The knob which you set it on the type wash you want. Put it on a different cycle and see if it completes the wash cycle. example if my washer is not working when I put it on heavy wash cycle I might put it on the casual wash cycle. If you change the wash cycle and it goes through the complete cycle it is probably the timer which is part of the knob you change for different wash cycles with.
If it stops when it is time to empty the tub on all cycles it may be the water pump which empties the tub. The one time I had a problem with the water pump it was a small piece of coal had the pump locked up. I never figured how it got out of the tub and to the pump but I put it back together and it worked fine.
It should not go into the spin cycle if the tub is full of water.
Two of the timers I bought cost 40 - 60 dollars. One was 140 dollars I bought a new washer that time because the washer only cost 220 dollars.

The wash time continues to increase on every cycle. I have a Maytag Neptune TL Washer.

Thank you my machine model number. The reason I ask is so many folks post non FAV6800A/FAV9800A issues in this forum. This forum doesn’t ask for machine model number and serial number. Here we go.

Does your machine seem to take longer than normal to fill with water?

Does the machine increase the time during the Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle?

Are there any error codes to the LED display such as dC or uC?

Do you want to work toward a DIY fix? If not maybe we can get a solid feel for the issue that will help you in the decision process to bring in a repair company or replace.

So I can better understand the issue can you start a Quick Wash cycle with Soil and Spin settings set to lowest setting and if you could place a couple of bath towels in the wash basket for a load.

I want to see if the machine will go thru the Wash, Rinse and Spin cycle within the 27 to 29 min time of a Quick Wash cycle. I want to see if the machine is increasing Washer Cycle time in the Spin Cycle of the Wash Cycle.

You should enter the Rinse Cycle at the 20 min mark on the LED display.

You should enter the Spin Cycle at the 10 min mark on the LED display.

Watch the cycle and see if you have similar times as I do. Let me know if the washer has any off balance issues as it enters into the Spin Cycle…..Rich

Washing cycle on a 40degree op. takes more than

Don't forget that the reason you bought a front loading washer is for the efficiency of the washing. In other words, front loaders use less water and get clothes cleaner without all the harsh beating that the older agitator units do.

If you're using any of the pre-programmed wash cycles, you might want to tgry another cycle to see how it does for getting your clothes clean with a shorter cycle.

If you check your owners manual, it should provide the cycle times for the various wash and water temp settings. The colder the water you use, the longer the wash cycle typically is, since it takes more agitation and time to get clothes clean, especially with front loading machines. Hope this helps.
