Using the Caller ID and Redial Lists Caller ID (CID) is a service available from your telephone provider that shows the phone number (and sometimes the caller's name) of incoming calls. Contact your telephone provider for more information. Caller ID list

When a call comes in, the phone displays the number and name (if available) of the caller.
The phone saves the information for the last 30 received calls to the
CID list.
When it's in standby, the handset shows how many calls came in since the last time you checked the CID list.
Each handset remembers the last 5 numbers you dialed on it. The redial list is separate for each handset.
Your iPhone uses the name that is listed in your address book for called ID. On your iPhone, go to Contacts, click on the name of the contact you wish to edit, hit Edit in the upper right-hand corner, and then change the last name accordingly. Once you are done, hit Done on the upper right-hand corner again, and now the correct name will show on caller ID.

go to menu,select call settings,then select caller id network and set it to 'automatic selection'.the phone will detect the network and name will be displayed.

Save your contacts to the phone. Personalized caller ID only works from the phone, not the sim. Go to contacts then press the contact name once to select it. Press the menu button (bottom left) on phone and scroll to 'copy to phone'. You should see the caller name when they ring then.
(I bought a sim back-up device so that I can keep the sim clear. If caller information is on both the phone and sim it gets listed twice in your contacts).
Set up the callers in your contacts. You must have the area code for the name to show up. You must dial the area code for the name to show up when dialing out.
The hearing problem could be the person you are talking to, if your volume is all the way up. If you are sure that it is you I would talk to a motorola technician. Let me know how it goes.
