SOURCE: Brand new Sennheiser RS140 headphones stopped working

Mine is a bit older (2yrs), but I have exactly the same problem. Absolutely no sound from the headphones (no beeps). I also tried new batteries, but still nothing.

If you have a solution, let me know!

Sennheiser md 42 microphone not being picked up on camcorder help please.

This would require a special cable to work. The mic is MONOAURAL with BALANCED output and the camera is STEREO input. This means a special cable is needed and you would probably have to make it yourself as I haven't seen one on the market.Pin 2 of the XLR of the mic would go to BOTH the tip and ring of the plug into the camera. Both pins 1 and 3 of the XLR at the mic would tie to the sleeve of the plug to the camera. If you tried an XLR to 1/8 adapter, no audio would be heard other than from the buillt in mic.

How should I connect an ATM73a headset to a sennheiser SK300

Audio Technica and Sennheiser each have proprietary connectors for their mics. A lot of times the mics require Phantom power which is drawn from the battery of the pack. This is important as the mic will need to be wired correctly to function.
The first thing you will need is the correct plug from the company. Check with Sennheiser customer Support for the correct part. If you aren't extremely good at soldering, do not attempt this. You can change the plug but the wires are extremely delicate and can short easily. Moreover because of the phantom power, the plug must be wired correctly for the mic to function, or you may end up damaging the mic by sending phantom power up the wrong line. I would advise having a music store or pro audio service that handles these products do the wiring for you. If you feel you are up to it, you can do it yourself, but be careful.

My school uses Sennheiser Mic's for it's PA system. Is there an adaptor that would let me connect my CD player to the PA sytem's mic jack via the CD player's 3.5 mm headphone outlet?

The CD is STEREO whereas the MIC is monaural.

One could make an adapter that merges the left and right channels before sending on the balanced XLR input. This involves using an audio transformer or direct input box for the balanced line and is not DIY unless you are elctronically skilled.

The best way to do this is to instead plug the output of the CD into the TAPE inputs that are usually available on the mixer.

One uses usually a 3.5mm stereo splitter cable with RCA plugs for most of them.

Microphone too quiet

That's probably not going to work.
Mic level is extremely low compared with line level.
Your sound card is expecting a line level input.
It's simply not made to plug a microphone into (you must be using an adapter or two just to make the connection)
Look for a USB Audio Interface with XLR or 1/4" microphone inputs - these interfaces are pretty generic these days and easy to use ... just plug into your computer via USB and then plug the mic into the interface ... which has a volume control on it ...
I use a Tapco Link.USB ... and like it

Mokrophone is not working

Found the problem... What Apple has is a line-in port...it requires a pre-amp to boost the signal of your mic. A PC likely has a mic-in port.

They're different ports...very similar but they accept different levels of input. Apple likely wants you to use their built-in mic for mic use and the line-in port for line-level audio sources.

Thsi appears to be our solution... Griffin iMic / USB Audio Interface
What a pain.
