Your problem should be solved by going into the menu and going to audio section, and turning off internal speakers. I guess you want to connect a surround sound system?

Testimonial: "This is not a projection pioneer but a plasma PDP 4214 HD. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the internal speakers under sounds or picture. The instructions for the Yamaha sound bar I wish to connect says it will function when the internal speakers are turned off. One solution I found was to place a plug in the headphone jack but there isn't one."

My pioneer receiver powers on but the volume doesn't work. Why is that??

Does this receiver function as only a tuner or does it have speaker outputs? If it has speaker outputs, then there might be switches for turning them on and/or if 5.1 surround sound, sometimes there is a bridge on the back so extra amplification can be added and if that bridge is missing, the tuner signals are sent on to the internal amplifier. On one of mine, that bridge was a 2 wires bent to fit into RCA jacks on the rear of the unit.

Internal speakers

If you go into the menu their should be an option for audio/sound once you enter that sub-menu there should be an option for the speaker internal/external or speaker on/off.

Deh-425 and deh-42 no speakers will work

hi ken, problem with your unit could be internal or external. i assume you not an audio technicain, start with checking all your speaker leads and speaker drivers directly, if any of these are found to be faulty try isolating it then retry to see if sound works again. secondly try resetting your unit. if all checks out well then you have an internal problem with your unit. check out your pioneer repair agent in this regard. remember if both units use the same harness(back plug) then chances are that you have an external problem with the speaker wiring or speakers itself. cheers.

Pioneer vsx82txs turn volume way up and shuts off. phase control flashes, now it won't turn on at all. could powered subs destroy it?

One of your speakers must
be internally shorted. Go into the MMAC menu and turn off one speaker at a time
until you can volume up without having a receiver shut down. DO NOT DISCONNECT

I have no sound coming from my rear speakers on my pioneer deh-6300hb

The first thing you will need to do is test all of your speakers and speaker wires for any shorts or grounds. Just one shorted speaker or speaker wire will shut off the audio. If your speakers and speaker wires check out fine, you probably have a bad internal output ic inside of your deck.

Sound is not working. everything is plugged in right. got the tv from my father-in-law who always had it hooked up to a receiver box. now we have it and dont have a receiver box and are unable to get any...

it sounds like the internal speakers are just off. you should be able to navigate the menu and find where to turn the speakers back on. i have my tv set up with a surround sound system and turned the internal tv speakers off. should be in the sound settings or with a picturre of a speaker.

Make sure there is no speaker in the system that is grounding to metal...this will cause the internal amplifier in the unit to shut off to protect itself from shorting. you can confirm this by disconnecting all speakers from the unit and one by one connecting them back up until it shuts off again or better yet, using a voltmeter, you can check for a shorted speaker contact or shorted voicecoil.

If your volume knob does nothing, then odds are your speaker outputs are blown. I would double check the setup menu to see if it has an internal amp shutoff, but I think only Alpines have this..
To access the menu, please do the following:
Press and Hold the "source" button until unit turns off.
Press and hold down the "multi-control" knob until the "language select" display appears.
Rotate the "multi-control" knob until you see something like "internal amp" or aything that looks like it would shut off the speaker outputs.....

Again, i don't think Pioneers have this, so odds are your aplifier chip is blown.

Pioneer deh p4900ib. After installing, only the sub woofer works. Why wont any of the door speakers work

Dodges internal amp requires a remote power wire. I tied the exteral MTX amp to the Dodge internal amp and all speakers work.
