SOURCE: JVC GM-P420E Plasma no video green screen

the problem is with the micro processor on the back of the fx-1169a board (gm-p420ug) this is the board the inputs connect to . yours may be a diffrent p/n due to yours bein a "e" extention model. to repair this problem you need to remove the processor from the socket, remove the socket from the board and solder the processor onto the board. the processor is ic002 on the back side the problem is thermal in nature due to cold solder joints on the socket. i have fixed this problem many times by using this method.

SOURCE: 50" Plasma Vizio P50HDTV10A - no video - just flashing B & W

Don't replace anything, Vizio has issued a lifetime warranty for this set because of this problem. No joke, call the customer service line and tell them you got the pop of death. They'll send someone out to 'repair' the set free of charge. If they can't fix it they'll give you a new one. Even if your mfg purchase warranty has expired. Call them and post the results. I've been fixing TV's longer than I care to admit and this is the first time I've actually seen a company stand behind their products like this. I bought a broken tv with the intent of fixing it and after replacing almost every board I could only manage to get the vertical racing stripe line, except mine was purple. I put it all back together and called to find out if there was a recall on this set and within 5 minutes the (Actual English speaking) gentleman told me to sit tight and he'd have a repairman come and do his thing. He did, and long story short, he couldn't fix it. Last week they delivered a new TV to replace this one. I was shocked. I think Vizio will have all my future business.
Good luck.

Hi Charles,
Your Tv has entered the demo mode. There is a code to cancel it. But I do not have it. Try resetting to factory settings. Or search 'viewsonic tv flashing different colours' on fixya. There are many solutions for various brands.
Good Luck.

I have a 4 year old WEGA Trinitron HD TV (model # KV- 30HS420) that over the last few months has been switching between full color and color missing green colorations. Most of the time now the full colour...

A good TV repair shop should be able to repair this but given the current price of flat panel TV's you might want to think about scrapping it.
I was a little confused about your description of the fault, one colour disappearing is in a very different area of fault from all colour disappearing. Does it flash into correct colour momentarily if you fine tune it? Is the picture as far as you can tell black and white or does it have a strong colour cast on it where everything is for example reddy or bluish etc?
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

The input (either VGA/HDMI/DVI) maybe be defective. Generally with these sorts of problems, either something goes defective in the port, or the cable. You said you tried different cables, so, it is probably the connection to the port inside of the monitor. Hope this helps!

Printed colours doesn't match with monitor colours

Here is a list of reasons why colours on electronic designs might differ from printed designs:
  • Monitors work in the RGB (Red,Green,Blue) colour space while printers use the CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) colour space.
Designs look fine on a monitor if they are designed in RGB to begin with. Converting them to CMYK might make them look odd on screen, but they will print correctly, to a certain measure. It is difficult to sign of an image file that is currently in CMYK mode while viewing with an RGB monitor.
  • Monitor settings differ.
The designer was sitting in a darkish room when choosing the blue and his blue looks vibrant. The client was viewing the same design in a well-lit room, making the blue seem lighter. The designer uses an LCD display and the client uses a CRT monitor and the vibrancy differs. The contrast and saturation settings on each monitor might differ as well, rendering the blue with different values.
  • Each printer in the world prints colour slightly different.
Sometimes it is really obvious and sometimes it is almost impossible to see the difference. Normal desktop printers are definitely not something to do colour proofing with. If you print the design out on your desktop printer then a slight shortage on any of the colours will make the colour come out wrong. There are a lot of factors that can influence even the most expensive printing equipment. These include altitude, humidity, the current heat of the printer, age of the printer, quality of ink, the paper that is being used, special coatings on the paper etc. Even viewing the same printed material in different lighting conditions may make the colour seem different.
Tips on getting the most accurate colour
Go to your nearest printer company and ask to see their Pantone colour matching system. Each colour in the Pantone chart has a matching number. Most design applications have the same Pantone charts built in so that colour matching is easy. Read up on Pantone at Wikipedia. Make sure that the file is converted to CMYK (If not designed in it originally) before sending it to print. Some printer companies might ask for colour separation prints which the leading design packages can produce. It is also important for the designer to choose the correct colour management profile in the design package.

My screen just turned yellow for no reason. I tried restarting, shutting down, and system restore but it is still yellow

Screen-colours are "additive" -- mix just 2 of the 3 primary colours, and you could get "yellow" -- mix all 3 or the primary colours, and you will get "white".

In order of "easy" and "cheap" to "difficult" and "expensive":

Check that the "data" cable is tightly connected at both ends,
so that all 3 colours are being transmitted from your computer.

Try a different "data" cable between the computer and the LCD.

Try connecting the LCD to a different computer (laptop or desktop).

Try adding a different video-adapter into your computer.

Green flashing pixels on all dark colours on my computer screen? they NEVER appear on light colours, just darker colours esp black, they move to fit whatever i have up, they tend to make straight lines or...

My suggestion would be to test your computer using a different monitor. You have to find out whether it is your monitor that is bad or your computer. If you use a different monitor and everything looks fine and you see no dots then you know the computer is fine and it's the monitor that is bad. But if the screen still show dots and lines even with different monitor then your computers video card has gone bad and needs replaced. I would not try to repair the monitor that can be dangerous.
Good Luck

Samsung LE26R7 4BD, approx 4 years old, colour distortions

Check all of your cables on the back of the tv and your sources such as Cable,Sat box and DVD palyer to make sure they are fully inserted into the input and output connectors. Some times Component cables will work loose and you end up with a missing color. Temprature changes can affect intermittant connections. If that does work then you have a bad Main bd.
