Question about Motherboards

1 Answer

Sart-up trouble. My pc is having trouble at start-up. About 5 seconds after It's turned on the foxconn (my motherboard brand) logo appears with the options to go into alternate menus and such. This had happened before, usually its fine and continues to boot the login screen. For whatever reason it's freezing on the foxconn screen or jumping to some data list which I believe is  a list of  components. Any idea what I should do?

Turn pc enter password

Open your computer, put out BIOS battery out, put jumper for clearing CMOS in Clear cmos position, put it back after 5 seconds, wait 30 minutes, password should be gone. If not, leave motherboard without battery for couple of hours, or best, over the night.

Program for donwloaud bios (foxconn logo)

Hello visit the foxconn homepage here:

And enter the mainboard number, in seach for the software.

Foxconn has made many mainboards for different brands, so you can also try at the pc`s homepage (not the mainboard)

Good luck

I TURNED ON MY PC many time but it comes up with the same result... i mean the motherboard logo appears longtime which is not normal at all times because in a normal start of the pc it only appears with...

10 minutes??? Are you exaggerating? Did Windows go into diagnostic/recovery mode during that time? One possible culprit is that it's finishing updating Windows during the startup. Another possible reason is that a BIOS setting was changed for some reason.

WINFAST 760GXK8MC motherboard problem

It's possible that while booting your motherboard without the 12V power connected you physically damaged some components which eventually lead to the chip burning up.  However, it is quite possible that this motherboard was defective as Foxconn has discontinued it.  I would recommend RMA'ing (return merchandise authorization) the motherboard back to Foxconn.  While no one wants to wait for shipping it is probably your best bet.  Even if you order the chip that has been damaged, and can properly solder it back in place, there will most likely be other physical damage that is not visible to the eye.  I would recommend another motherboard, and Foxconn has quality mobo's for around $50.  Try visiting Hope this helps :)

Motherboard Problem

Hi it sounds like an operating system crash to me, before going out spending anything try entering the BIOS by hitting "delete" when logo comes up then change "boot secwence" to boot from CD first then HD second.
Next insert XP disc press F10 to save changes and will then boot from cd and you can try to repair operating system an still keep all your files.

hope this helps

you can also perform a full format in the same way :-)

Logo hangs for 30 + seconds on start up

There is a way to speed it up by adjusting the diagnostics test. You have to go into the BIOS to adjust it.

Help with motherboard

The keyboard should work, unless it is a usb keyboard, the drivers have not had chance to load because you are still in basic dos. Try a PS2 keyboard if this is the case.
