What is a code 48 on a dodge caravan

Hi Melvin, I'm glad to help. Melvin, after tons of recearch I finally found the code 48 and by-the-way this is what they call a HEX CODE which is usaully assigned to a P Code. The explanation I found for this 48 Hex Code is below! Hope this helps and have an awesome day Melvin.

Name of Code:

P1793(48) - Torque Reduction
(TRD) Link Communication Error
Note: The MIL may set on some engines (3.3L, 3.8L,
3.5L)
When Monitored:
Whenever the engine is running
Set condition:
This code is set when the TCM
sends multiple torque reduction messages to the
PCM and the TCM does not receive a response from
the PCM.
Theory of Operation:
During high torque shifts
the TCM will send a message requesting that the
PCM reduce engine power until the shift is completed.
This message is sent from the TCM to the
Powertrain Control Module across the Torque Management
Request Sense Circuit. The PCM will
acknowledge the TCM request by sending a message
across the PCI bus within a specific amount of
time. The TRD Link communication is also tested
periodically for operation whenever the engine is
running and the vehicle is not moving with zero
degrees throttle.

Wont start trouble codep0700 is the only code

Hi there:Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory.
This illuminates the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to let the driver know there is a problem. If this code is present and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is illuminated that basically means there is at least one transmission code set in the TCM's memory. P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission. More diagnosis is necessary to identify what the transmission fault is. This requires a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission module.
More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely).
For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission. If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Obd2 p0700

Hi John:
DTC P0700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction
Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM).

Symptoms of a P0700 DTC may include:
Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination
The transmission may exhibit drivability problems like slipping, etc.

More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely).

Possible Solutions:
For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission.

If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself.

Van will not start code p0725 what to do

Without knowing make or model Po725 is a Chrysler code for Engine Speed Sensor Circuit
Possible Causes- - Open or shorted CKP sensor circuit condition
- Poor CKP sensor electrical connection
- Check communication error between the ECM and TCM
- Failed CKP Sensor
When is the code detected- The P0725 Codes is triggered when TCM does not receive the engine speed signal from ECM. Chrysler description- The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the engine speed through the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor with the engine running, and send signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM

Car does not run ,I check the code ,it is P0700

Because it is not starting, you should replace the Crankshaft sensor (above the oil filter, back of the engine)-it will cause a P0700-I have a 99 SL2, 178,000 miles

DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request)
Translation: Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure. P0700 Information Code The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM. This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes. So basically, the P0700 code is telling you to check the TCM for a transaxle DTC. The TCM can not turn on the check engine light so it has the PCM do it. The dealer probably saw the code P0700 and went to the TCM and pulled out the code stored there telling them the Transmission Solenoid Assembly (TSA) is bad. This is a good example of understanding what the codes actually mean. If the manual you looked at said the TCM is bad and to replace the TCM when you see a P0700, then it is wrong.

I have a black and dark grey digital watch marked TCM on the back with 4 buttons saying "bearing", "start/spl", "mode/select", "stp/light/set" around a circular digital face. On the back it says that it...

  1. Hold and press upper left. (backlight turns up and cipher (to adjust) start blinking)
  2. Switch between the positions by pressing bottom left
  3. Set the cypher you want by pressing bottom left
  4. Repeat step 2 and 3 each time you need
  5. Press upper left to end of adjusting
To use the compass - upper right. To callibrate and set the declination, please search it. I just post that answer to another TCM 217362 watch owner.

(DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

Translation:
Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure.

P0700 Information Code

The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM.

This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes.

P1776: Solenoid Switch Valve Latched in Low/Reverse Position. The TCM monitors the L/R solenoid to ensure that the fluid transfer happens. It uses a Pressure switch to verify this. Usually this code is set by a switch that is stuck or a solenoid that is not mechanically operating.

A transmission shop would be better suited for this type of work.
