SOURCE: I have a Karcher 2,600 PSI 2.3 GPM Gas Pressure

Hi I have a similar pressure washer from Kartcher and the same scenario as yours I have owned it for about 2 years and noticed that it was getting harder and harder to start with each time I use it which is months. If your pw has a honda engine on it the likely culprit may be the carbuerator. The main and pilot jets may get clogged up with gunk from dired up gasoline. To see if you have a fuel problem spray a shot of starter fluid into the carberator with the choke open, then close it and try to start. If it runs for about a second and dies, then the carbuerator is at fault and you are not getting fuel into your motor and all you're doing is working out your arm.

SOURCE: starts but stops straight a way

If under warranty, take advantage. Otherwise, you will need to remove the carburetor, and check the jets for plugging. Remove the float and needle; blow out the fuel inlet passage and jets with compressed air. Remove the idle mixture screw and blow into it's hole. Turn the screw back in until it stops (lightly) then back out about 1-1/2 to 2 turns CCW for basic idle setting. Adjust for smooth idle when warmed up. Make the same setting if the carburetor has an adjustable high speed jet. Turn CW slowly until the engine begins to lose high speed, then back CCW until it runs fast and smoothly. Turn it a little more if it seems short on power.

Why wont start

Ok well there is only two things that make a combustion engine run! If you are getting gas to the fuel rail and it has adequate fuel pressure at the rail then you have a spark problem! Pick up a spark tester( looks like a plug wire in a way but has a light ) Plug it into the first plug on the right side of the motor,(# 1 cylinder) and have a friend turn over the motor. There should be positive spark and the light indicator should light as a constant . If it is intermittent in any way than spark is why u will not start. Then on these years I always start with a new coil or coil packs depending on your type of engine! Hope this helps!! Just my opinion and I could be wrong ! Good luck.

My Suzuki Eiger 400 starts hard then once running is great.

The carburetor choke valve might be stuck open or not closing when the engine is cold. The engine needs a richer mixture to start. Too rich a mixture (flooding) can also cause trouble. Turn the fuel valve off to be sure the carb isn't leaking when not in use. If it smokes black on startup, it's flooding. Also check the condition of the spark plugs.

My snapper hi-vac niwer us hard to start. I can't pull hard enough to get it to start. It uses straight gas, not mixed with oil.

If you are having problems starting your mower you shouldcheck 3 things, air, fuel and spark.

Fuel: check to make sure you are full of good quality fuel, try to start theengine several times then take out the spark plug and it should look wet. If its not wet then you aren't getting fuel into the engine.

Air: remove and clean the air filter with clean gasoline if its made offoam. If its made of paper then you should buy a new one from a localauto parts or hardware store.

Spark: disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug and hold thewire close to the engine block. Try to start the engine and watch for aspark to jump between the end of the wire and the engine block. If itdoesn't then either the wire is bad or the ignition coil is bad.

I have a Hoffco Lil'l hoe and it will start for a few seconds and then stop. Last year I took it to a local small engine repair shop and they just half fixed it because a couple uses it became hard to...

Make sure your air filter is clean and you are using brand new petrol. If you left old petrol in it it may have clogged up the carb. It sound like no fuel is getting to the spark plug. If you have a rubber priming bulb, press it slowly and regularly to try and keep the engine going once you have it started on starting fluid. Good luck.

2002 blazer 4 wheel drive hard to start

If the pressure is slow to rise, you should consider changing the fuel filter if it has not been done in the past 30,000 miles.
Next, disconnect a spark plug and check for spark while engine is cranking. Use a spark tester or old spark plug grounded to the engine block.
Let me know.

2003 Ford Ranger starts hard.

That sounds like it could be one of many things. Have you ever given the truck a tune up? I suggest the following things first.

New Air Filter
New Spark Plugs
New Plug Wires
Oil Change (and filter)

These are the basic necessities of an engine. Having a dirty air filter, or plugs that are firing weak can surely cause this problem. Try giving the truck a good old tune up and see how it starts then.

Changing spark plugs

Changing the spark plugs on a 1997 Ford Expedition 5.4L engine takes patience. Remember to start this project on a cold engine! I started on the passenger side by locating the Coil over iginition coils and cleaned out all the old dirt using some compressed air. Then I had to disconnect the electrical connections to both the Coil over ignition coils and the passenger side fuel injectors. Once you remove the small bolt which holds the ignition coil in place, use your compressed air again to blow out the spark plug hole. After that, you will need a 5/8" swivel spark plug socket and various length extensions to remove the spark plugs. Take your time because there is not much room for your hands. Before installing the new plug, check the gap and use clean engine oil on the new threads. Tighten the new spark plug and reinstall the coil over ignition coil. Reconnect the electrical connection to both the ignition coil and the fuel injector. Continue these steps with all eight spark plugs. You will find the ones on the drivers side are difficult because of the fuel rail gets in your way. Have patience and use swivel extensions to work around the tight spaces. When you are done, you will have saved lots of money! Don't forget to replace your air filter, fuel filter, and pcv valve to complete your tune up.
