My hp photosmart r707 gives me a message (card is unreadable) i have inserted a new card and i get the same message each time.

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. Some cameras have a capacity limit, and won't work with cards that are too large (in memory terms).

One thing you could try is formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format or gives an error when you try, then there may be an issue with the connectors in the card slot or the card may be incompatible. However, I would expect the camera to report that the card needed formatting rather than that it was unreadable, if formatting was the only problem.

Sandisk 4gb micro SD with adapter is "unreadable"

Hello,

Certain cameras will not recognize an SD card because it is SDHC. The format was created after the camera. Camera vendors do issue firmeware updates.

Hope it helps.

Card is unreadable

Take out the card and transfer the photos to the computer. After you verify that your photos are safely on the computer, reinsert your card in the camera and proceed with the formating.

Card unreadable display and can't retrieve images on sd card!

If this were mine I would take it to Walmart or something similar and load the card into their photo machine to see if it says the same thing. If theirs won't read it the card is probably hosed and your photos are gone.

Casio exilim z750 sd card unreadable

If the memory card is not recognized in the PC or it is impossible to access the data on it, the controller on the card is damaged. There is only one way to get the data back, unsolder memory chips and directly access their raw data with a programable chip reader. Software can't help, that is a physical damage! Have a look at: CF xD SD memory card/stick photo recovery

CF light stays on, cards come out unreadable by computer

You may need to have your camera driver and software reinstalled. It seems that the internal writer capabilities are corrupted.

This is evident if each card you use ends up corrupted or unreadable, but the rest of the camera operates normal.

Windows can't see images from my Hitachi Microdrive

In the first instance you should never format a media card/drive for a camera in a computer Windows does not know about the file type cameras need. Now getting your pictures back www.konvar.com - has PC Inspector Download and install this and run it through the card -preferably in a card reader, rather than still in the camera.
