SOURCE: spiderarm

You are referring to the spin basket. The spider arms (there are three of them) are welded to the back of the basket as supports. You cannot purchase them separately as they are part of the entire basket. The replacement part number for the model you have listed is W10250573. You can search the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites on the list also include helpful exploded view prts illustrations to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

This is not a cheap part and its a labor intensive undertaking. If you've never replaced a spin basket and need step-by-step instructions, the following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r752855-replacing_rear_tub_bearing

Its a lengthy read, but its thorough.

If you have any questions please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

NOTE: Repairclinic.com had it listed for the best price at the time I posted this.

One of the arms in the drum broke off, can this be replaced?

I assume that you have a front load washer since you mentioned arms. Many of the front load washers, the manufacturer forces you to buy the support arm and drum as a unit. To check, for your particular model, go to www.repairclinic.com to find out what you need to replace the spider arm/drum assembly. Hope this helps you.

My plastic drum seal on my Whirlpool duet front-loading washer is chipping apart. The drum doesn't run true, is wobbly and has a rhythmic rub when turning. How do I replace the drum seal? Model GHW9100LW.

You have more serious problem than just your drum seal. The support arms in the wash tub are broken. The wash tub should always spin true. When it wobbles it is a sure sign that the suport arms or spider arms are broken. It is an expensive repair since the wash drum, the outer plastic tub and the door seal need to be replaced. Check your warranty, to see if some of these repairs can be covered. Get a few estimates before deciding whether to repair or replace it. Sorry.

Hi my amw5125 front load machine makes an awful whining noise when it slows down or speeds up,could u please advise on the problem and action that is required? many thanks

when in the spin it bangs and is noisy you have a bad spider gear.this is usually from using to much detergent,it eats at the metal spider gear until it breaks, unfortunitly it's cheaper to buy a new washer than to repair this problem.next washer you buy read the instructions on how much detergent you should use.the whirlpool duet is the best front load out there right now but whatever washer you buy you should be using 1/4 cup of h.e. detergent.there's alot less water in front loads and the spider gear is made of soft metal and extra detergent eats at it until it breaks.you can also check the shocks but i've found most of the time if the shock is broken it's from also breaking the spider and the extra movement breaks the shock.you can try calling whirlpool and see if they can do anything for you.good luck

My whirlpool duet washer make a loud banging sound during spin - louder when it goes into super spin

It sounds like the spider or support arms that hold the wash drum have failed and the drum is hitting the wash tub when it is spinning. Try spinning the inner drum by hand and listen for any thumping sounds as it turns. Also examine how it turns, if you notice that is wobbles as it turns, it also means that the supports are failing.

It can be fixed but it might be expensive. Get a few estimates before deciding to repair or replace. Hope this helps you.

Whirlpool duet ht washer make loud thumping sound during spin cycle

you could have a broken shock but most of the time it's a damaged spider gear and you'll need to replace the washer because the part alone is 500 bucks.you're using to much detergent and it eats at the spider gear and it falls apart

My duet makes a loud (out of balance sound) when spinning @ high speeds. (it's not out of balance tho) the outer plastic drum seems to have a groove worn into it

The problem is the dreaded broken spinner support or what is called the spider assembly. It is the three-arm assembly that holds the basket to the shaft. Unlike the basket which is stainless, the spider is made of aluminum that corrodes with time and usually breaks during the 6th or 7th year of the machine.

The bad news is, the spinner support cannot be purchased separately. It comes as a complete assembly with the basket which is covered by at least a 10-year warranty. The most frustrating fact is that the spinner support is not covered by the same warranty even though they come as an assembly which costs at least $500, a non-economical repair to invest.

Here are some videos of owners of Sears Kenmore Front Load Washers who had an issue with the spinner support. Most Sears Kenmore Front Load Washers are manufactured by Whirlpool like the ones in the videos.

Loud banging noise looks like the drum is off set and it damaged the rubber in the front

If the inner wash drum is sagging when it is empty, it probally means that the support arms that hold the drum has failed. If you turn the drum by hand and if you hear any kind of banging noise or the drum wobbles more that a fraction of an inch, then the support or spider arms are broken.

You can't buy the spider arms seperately and must buy a drum and spider as one unit. The cost to repair would be in the hundereds. See the following link to judge for yourself if you want to fix it yourself or have it fixed. http://www.fixya.com/support/t4267953-spiderarm

Help - my clothes are tearing

I've heard of this often and don't know of any fixes.
I would suggest getting womens hosiery or Halloween spider web cotton and running it around inside to see if it snags.
make sure the basket arms inside are not loose. rock them hard while holding the drum. sometime those arms come loose and pinch the clothing.
