SOURCE: universal home theater remote for Pioneer VSX-305 audio/video stereo receiver

Don't spend a lot of money for a universal remote. Radio Shack has some good buys. I think you are the same person who is having problems with a 305. Get rid of it. You can make a quantum leap at Amazon for less than $200 for a Pioneer.

SOURCE: Marantz SR5200 receiver works only with remote not manually

Check for a stuck/jammed switch, press each switch if one doesn't make a normal click sound or it doesn't move at all that's your problem.
If that's not it check the owners manual for how to reset the receiver (not all manuals will tell you how to reset it) Another way to reset it is to short the memory cap, but that is better left to a tech.

I have a new onkyo rc 868m remote that seems to have lost its code. can you help me

Hi James, I am sorry that you are having an issue. I do not know your receiver model number but you can try a couple of things. It really did not lose it's codes. If you are trying to control the receiver look for the RCV button on top or the receiver mode button, press that first and then the button you want to use. If that does not work go into the receiver's programming and look for remote control. Check if the remote code is set to 1. Change it if you need to and test. You can change the remote code in the remote. You may have done that by mistake. Follow the instructions in the manual to reset the remote. It will go back to 1. Thank you, Onkyo USA

My pioneer sx-316 multi channel receiver is off on protected mode what do I do to restart

I read the instructions perhaps slightly differently perhaps. I take the instructions to mean first hold down tone and then hold standby/on key for three seconds. Have you tried doing it as two steps?

1 Switch the receiver into standby.
2 While holding down the TONE button, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button for about three seconds.
3 When you see 'RESET?' appear in the display, press the ENTER button. OK? shows in the display.
4 Press SETUP to confirm.

Pioneer vsx-32 won't turn on with remote

Hi, since both remotes suddenly fail, I am assuming the problem is more than likely with the received rather than the remotes.

If you do wish to check your remotes, then point your mobile phone camera at the remote's Infrared lens and press one the remote's buttons. Your mobile phone camera is able to detect Infrared light and in case you remotes are working properly, you should see light coming out of your remote's Infrared lens.

Make sure that no direct sun light is on your receiver because that can effectively block out the signals from your remote controls.

Try the following method to reset your receiver. Unplug your receiver mains cable from the mains wall socket; power your receiver on by pushing the on/off button (nothing will happen obviously) and leave it like that for say 30 minutes. By that time all capacitors in your receiver will have discharged. Plug your received mains cable in the mains wall socket.Push the receiver's on/off button and see if it know responds to your remote controls.

If the problem still persists, you may have a failed Infrared receiver LED. That component can be found inside your receiver. It will take some basic elelectronics skills to get this component replaced. A service manual can help you. You can download it for free from this website: http://elektrotanya.com/pioneer_vsx-32_33.pdf/download.html

Good luck.

Hi: i have a sc-05 pioneer elite rec. i just

Hello I believe you are correct in the cause of this problem; it would be due to one of the audio calibration protocols that are programmed on board that uses each channel individually and disables the others. Or, there is one other cause. I'll address both.

Make sure the MCACC microphone is disconnected.
Then make sure the slide switch on the remote is NOT on the selection at the far right that is labeled "RCV." Select either "source", or "TV."

Otherwise, also on the remote is a button on the right side of the panel labeled for channel level as "CHLevel" that allows you to have individual volume control of each speaker.

To correct this, move the slide switch on the remote to "RCV" and then press the "CHlevel" button, then use the left or right arrow keys on the remote to set each channel to the same value. When finished, return the slide switch to "Source."

Hello
Just reset the system and try. So many external commands may confuse the system control IC inside, will hang up very like our computer systmes do. Resetting it to factory settings will make the unit work well. To reset the system:

Disconnect the iPod and USB memory
device from the receiver beforehand
1# Switch the receiver into standby.

2# While holding down ENTER on the front

panel, press STANDBY/ON.
The display shows RESET .

3# Select 'RESET' using PRESET then

press ENTER on the front panel.
The display shows RESET? OK.

4# Press ENTER to confirm.

OK appears in the display to indicate that the
receiver has been reset to the factory default settings.

Note that all settings will be saved, even if
the receiver is unplugged.
If this process does not help you, your system needs service with its main system control circuit. Actually this is a very skilled job, and should be done either by any well experienced service technician or by the Authorised Service Center for Pioneer at your town. OK.
