Question about Kenmore 73932 Gas Dryer

Open Question

Dryer runs fine, no heat.

I have been trying to diag. this dryer but I must be missing something. Performed all related tests, plus. I have no igniter or gas, searching further I suspected the centrifical sw. removed motor assy. disassembled and found a burnt contact on terminal for belt sw. cleaned and checked operation by hand could use more tech data, only thing suspicious gas valve no.2 resistance is 1283 just hair high. Is there more specific tests and data?

SOURCE: Dryer Runs, but NO Heat

The new dryer products clog up the fine mesh screen lint trap. Take it out each time and wash it with hot water until you can see the water run through. I learned this the hard way and paid for a service call.

SOURCE: Gas Dryer not heating

You will have to replace "BOTH" of those gas solinoids. First, be absolutely sure that you "TURN OFF THE GAS". Then be sure the unit is unplugged. Remove the phillips head screws, remove the small metal top bracket, and slide the coil up and off. Then replace the coil, rehook your wire, and replace the metal holder. Upon testing, be sure to turn your gas back on. The first time it may act like it wont start, but let it cycle through a couple times to remove air. Good Luck And Be Safe. Jim

Verify the glow bar ignitor is working. Also ohm it to specs before you replace a gas valve coil.

Continuity is great but did they perform an ampere test on the ignitor while the ignitor was hooked up inside the unit? An ignitor typically draws between 3 and 3.3 amperes any less then this would constitute a weak ignitor and the ignitor should be replaced if it is weak because it takes much longer to ignite the gas inside a dryer. An ignitor would always show conductivity except if the element were broken. So to start with wrong test was performed. Secondly there are also run thermistors and hi and low limit thermistors that act as relays that can also be checked in dryers by performing continuity tests on these thermistors click this link this is one of the schematics to your dryer k 550 is a thermistor and k 560 is a thermostat both should be tested as mentioned above. M 110 is the gas vavle which on other units the coil is replaceable but is only sold along with the valve on an LG which also has to be tested that power is going to the solenoid on top of the valve and that it is going to the ignitor. If you have any further questions message me back. I await your reply as to any further questions as well as your finds as well. Thanks again

I have a problem with my Dell Latitude D600. It only works for a couple of minutes and then freezes up.. is there anything i can do

Two Suggestions :-
1) Test your Hard disk : Restart your Notebook, Go to BIOS Mode and run the HDD Self test
2) Make sure there should not be unncessary programs installed. You can go to start > Run > MSCONFIG and untick the programs you not want to load in your machine. Prefer would be if you uninstll from Add/remove programs.

Please post your feedback and Vote if the problem resolved as per your satisfaction>

Im at a complete loss with my dryer. It runs but doesnt heat

Check the 230v very carefully You may be hooking it up even with new wire just like the old. You have to have across the line 230
not just 230. Sounds like you need to have an electrician to check
230 across the line at the wall.
Let me know.

Dryer runs fine but heating unit will not ignite

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Amana gas dyer wont turn model #lga30aw

If the machine stays completely off, does not ignite, does not spark, does not turn, and does not show any sign of power, check the power outlet, and the power cord.

If the machine starts, ignites, but the drum does not turn, then the following parts must be tested:

PS2166310 Motor Switch Kit (part 3 diag 2 )

PS2021298 Motor Assembly (part 5 diag 2 )

PS2046298 TIMER, 4 CYCLE (part 5 Diag 1)

If the Dryer does not ignite or does not heat test the following:

If it does not ignite:

PS2039618 BURNER IGNITOR ASSY (part 7 - diag 4)

PS383994 Two Terminal Gas Valve Coil (p.8 -d.4)

PS383993 Secondary Coil Valve (p.12 d.4)

PS2046673 VALVE,ELBOW SHUT-OFF (p.14 - d.4)

PS2039380 Gas Valve Wire Harness

PS2201082 Limit Thermostat (part 7 - Diag 3)

If it turn but does not heath check also fan assembly and PS2046273 Cycling Thermostat (part 27 - Diag 2)

Here the diagrams

Heat is erratic

If you already tested the element, then test and eventually replace the following parts:

Heating Element Connection Wire part 19 in diag (can be tested using multimeter, check for lose connection or broken wire).

PS347661 Lint Filter , Replace it.

PS383953 and _.gif PS987929 blower assembly (check for obstruction because of lint, and that wheel is working) part 10 and 11 on diag.

PS344510 Cycling Thermostat (can be tested using multimeter), part 8

PS351925 High Limit Thermostat (can be tested using multimeter)- part 15 in diag.

Refer to diagram below to locate parts:

Maytag Gas Dryer SDG515DAWW - heating stopped

The heat is regulated with a Klixon mounted next to the blower housing near the vent pipe so it can judge the temperature of the air coming out of the drum.Right next to it is a melting type fuse. If the dryer runs and gets too hot the fuse will melt. But the dryer will still run. So if the fuse is good(continuity) and the dryer control(cycle) thermostat is also good then you should have power going to the gas valve assembly when the machine is running unless the timer is in the no heat or wrinkle free/cool down mode. When the gas valve assembly is energized the flame sensor a%20flame%20sensor%202.bmp flame sensor mounted outside the burner chamber detects the heat from the ignitor. When the heat is very intense then the sensor shuts down the igniter
a%20igniter.jpg Igniter and that frees up the power so that the coils can be fully energised and open the gas gates. The gas comes out and hits the red hot igniter and you have ignition. It stays on for maybe 2 or 3 minutes or until the control thermostat is satisfied and shuts down power to the gas valve assembly.
