SOURCE: Estate electric dryer not heating. Runs and

If you know how, unplug the dryer and ohm out the electric heating element to see if it's broken. you may even be able to see the break in the element with your eyes. If the element is indeed broken, you can order a "restring kit" to replace it- usually very simple to do and only about 1/2 hour to do. If the element is good, check the safety fusable link and the thermal overheat safety switch, if any are bad, they are all VERY easy to replace. Beyond that, things get a little more complicated for a weekend warrior- not impossible, just more involved... Go to the library and check out Orthos "Homeowners Repair Manual"- one of the best written weekend warrior guides out there! Should be able to walk you thru more than you ever thought you could do- I give one to every new friend for Christmas every year... Hope this helps! :)

Check the house electrical panel dryer circuit breaker pair--push off, then on. Try the dryer again. If still nothing, measure the voltage across the two slanted slots in the dryer power socket. It should measure: ~230 volts AC. If at or near zero, either one of the breaker pair is defective, or a wire is open from the breaker to the socket. If you read ~230 volts, then the problem is within the dryer--motor runs, but drum doesn't turn (broken belt), or motor doesn't run (bad controller, motor, door switch, start switch. Does the unit get hot? Need more help on your end.
