Question about Drills

Open Question

Metabo drill I have a metabo khe26 drill that has barely been used approximately 3years has the keycode security system on it but I have never activated it.In the first few weeks of use the drill stopped working and the keycode light on the top of the drill lit up as if security system was activated. On pressing the trigger the motor sounds as if to go but the chuck does not spin.sent it back for repair and seemed to be ok but has recently happened again.very frustrating as the drill has had very little use.any ideas .thanks

SOURCE: The chuck no longer spins on my drill

Hi your best chance is to try ebay for one with the motor gone.
Other than that best you can do is buy another drill the same so you will have a spare battery.
You could try Skill for a gear but it probably will be the price of a new drill.

SOURCE: porter cable 884 cordless drill

Most chucks have a tolerance the cordless drills where designed for drill bits 1/8 and larger the 3/8 chucks are a little better with the smaller bits .Check your owners manual and see if they have a min requirement listed for the bit size

SOURCE: DW988 1st and 2nd gear doesnt work, 3rd gear works

You may have put it back together wrong, but you may also need a new transmission. 99% of the power tools I work on where the gears are slipping is caused by the transmission or gear box (both names are used interchangeably).
Good luck to you!

Service Centers are listed on the Metabo Web Site. go to Metabo.US, then Services/Support, repairs and spare parts and in the center of the page click "Service Center". input your 5 digit zip code and it will offer you a list of all local groups that support the Metabo line.

It will not work with my power inverter in my truck, but it works when used on a regular 120v outlet. My power saw and my HILTI Drill work but the METABO UHE 28 Multi just will not work at all??? WHY ???

The inverter isn't putting up enough power to drive the metabo. You may be able to give it a "running start" by rotating the blade along a board while pulling the trigger. This isn't a good practice, however, as the board or the saw could slip, so be doubly careful if you try something like this. Your best choice would be to get a bigger inverter.

Best regards, (and be careful), --W/D--

What is the switch at the back of the drill for

This switch will turn the impulse mode on or off. The impulse mode provides the burst of power needed to prevent slippage and allow easier drilling of tile and other hard materials.
Hope this helps.
