There's a tiny black button to the side, beneath the rewind lever, press that as you pull up on the rewind lever

My Canon EAS Film Rewind Knob is rolling my new film back into the cassette instead of into the camera...please help.

That's what the rewind knob is all about: It will allow you to rewind the film back into the cassette to avoid it to be exposed to the light and therefore losing your pictures.

When loading the film you must insert the film into the receiving spool by hand while the camera back is open. Make sure to advance the start enough so that the spool will 'stick' to the film.

How to load new film

push the rewind button on the bottom of the camera, then turn the rewind knob to the right to rewind any film that may be in the camera. Lift the rewind knob up to open the back door. remove the film canister if there.
on the new film canister pull enough film to reach the take up spool. attach the leader to the spool and close the back door, advance the film to counter number 1. enjoy.

Can't open vivitar 5388

Use the rewind knob to rewind the film. Once the film is rewound, lift the knob up and the back should open. Then you can remove the film cassette and insert a new cassette and load the film.

I dont know how to load my Nikon 35mm camera. I need instructions

Pull up the film rewind knob to open the back.

Drop the cartridge into the well on the left and, while rotating the rewind knob, push it back down to secure the cartridge.

Pull the leader across and insert it into any of the slots in the takeup spool.

Make sure the film perforations engage the sprocket teeth.

Alternately wind the film lever and press the shutter button until the perforations on both edges of the film engage the sprocket teeth.

Close the camera back, making sure it latches.

Take up the film slack by rotating the rewind knob in the direction of the arrow until you feel resistance.

Make blank exposures until the counter shows "1".

There's a fuller, illustrated set of instructions in the manual, which you can download from http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm
