Why do musical instruments cost so much?

Depending on the instrument you are looking for ebay, or even wish.com can be a good bet if you're willing to wait on shipping. They often have them for less than 1/3 the price of a typical store and your purchases are backed by the website.

I think these instruments were made around 1980 1190 can you give details of quality and price

No one can give you details of quality and price of some unspecified instruments just reading a question from a Q/A forum. Take you instruments to an instrument store, an anqiquary or even a pawn shop and get it evaluates as it should be.

How old and what it is worth

OK, I don't know much about Musical Instruments but deffinitively it's impossible to answer your question since you don't even tell us WHAT is the musical instrument in question.
Now, if you have some vintage musical instrument, take it to a musical instruments' store and show it to some expert. That's the only way to tell how old is it and they might tell you it's value,
Of coures if it's a piano, you just should take some good photos, look for make, model and serial and any relevant data

What is a good Price for this secondhand instrument? SER.no. 658516

No matter what instrument you have, the price should reflect the quality of the instrument.
For instance say your instrument is very good sounding, but has some wear and tear, you could sell it for $100, if it's poor sounding
but great looks $75, and if it's poor sounding, and has wear and tear
the price should be no more than $50.

Fender Artist Signature Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster US13088442

A new serial numbering scheme was adopted toward the end of 2009 using the number "10" as a prefix, followed by a space, followed by seven digits. The "10" prefix was designed to identify the first year of the second decade of the new millennium, and while it appears on the instrument decals, it was not captured in Fender's operating system. Only the seven-digit suffixes were actually entered into the database. These serial numbers did not identify the country of origin in the body of the number. Instead, the instrument's country of origin appears on the decal on the back of the headstock, near the serial number.

This new numbering scheme was short-lived and was replaced only a few months later by an improved scheme that identifies an instrument's country of origin and year of manufacture in the body of the serial number.

This new scheme uses the letters "US" as a prefix to designate an instrument made in the United States, followed by an eight-digit number. The first two digits of the number identify the year of manufacture, (10 for 2010, 11 for 2011, etc.). The following six digits are the unit identifier, although it should be noted that these final six numbers are not sequential and do not provide any other identification information about the instrument. This new scheme is now used on the majority of U.S.-made Fender instruments, with exceptions including the American Vintage series and certain special-run instruments. Where can I buy the replacement keys?

We cannot guess what brand or model instrument you might have or even for sure if it is a musical instrument as we often find stuff posted in completely wrong area on here. Resubmit this with complete information. In general if it is a keyboard type instrument you need to go right to the parts support of the original manufacturer.

I have an Omega/Lambda/Lexicon and the vocals seemed to be delayed with the timing established by the instruments. Any ideas of what to do?

Without the configuration you are using we have little to go on. How is the system wired? Are you saying when you run instruments AND mics into this then record they do not play back together? If the instruments are MIDI types and you play back along with the vocals I would expect the MIDI instruments to be delayed a little as it takes time to transmit the note info at 31.25Kb... It takes about 1/3000 second for EACH MIDI character and note messages take three of those for a total of about 1 ms. One millisecond IS noticeable by the ear... and if you have several instruments it may take several milliseconds to service all the instruments. If you are recording ANALOG instruments the delay should be imperceptible.
