talk with a caravan service center but you can remove the rubber feet and front adjuster bolts and use those points to bolt the fridge to the floor of the motor home
advice from people who install fridges to vans and motor homes would be a good place to start

See if you have access to a schematic on the unit itself. The fact that it works fine on gas tells you there is nothing wrong with the ammonia solution in the tubing. For that unit to work, the electric heating element has to boil off the ammonia and this is not happening. Check on the schematic if there is some kind of fuse or additional in line switch which is preventing the heating element from turning on and doings its job.

The heater element is almost certainly to earth. Work it on gas until you can fit a new heater.

This Caravan is a recreational vehicle? If you have an ammonia absorption refrigerator in the unit, and you smell ammonia, your fridge is leaking. This can be a health hazard. Park the unit and get the fridge serviced, they are repairable by independant service personnel. There are only 2 in Ontario Canada. If you go to an RV shop, the will only want to sell you a new fridge.

Problem is either thermostat or heating element...not sure which yet..but found website supplying most usable parts for RM series fridges. Hope this link is of use.

All the controls and instructions are under the kickboard at the bottom of the fridge. Hope this helps
