Question about Rancilio Epoca ST

Open Question

My rancilio epoca 2gp quit producing any hot water. In fact, I had just finished a draw and it wouldn't pull any more water through the group head. The steam wands worked for a short time, but now I am not getting any water. I have turned it off and tried pushing a reset button that has worked in the past. Please help!

SOURCE: water will not come through the steam wand

I had the same problem. I took the steam wand off, and checked for steam out of the unit. It was OK, so I stuck a thin wire up through the steam wand and dislodged what look like pieces of a green washer or O-ring.
In short...the wand was plugged.

SOURCE: no water through group head

Hi
More than likely your 3 way valve is stuck. It is located behind the front panel and when the 2 screws are removed it slides to the right. Unplug your machine before working on it. The 3 way valve is on the left and you can remove the dispersion tube on the bottom(unscrews) 14mm nut holds the solenoid on and you can slide the solenoid down the shaft. The big nut at the top of the shaft will unscrew and there you will fin the solenoid inside with a big spring. If its not stuck it will slide out and you probably need a new 3 way valve, but more than likely its stuck. Some times just tapping the nut on something hard will unstick the solenoid. Clean good and reinstall.

Check the top of the group head there is a large bolt, within that is the metering jet and filter, that might be the cause of the blockage(either the jet is clogged or the filter is clogged). As for the full temp on the boiler what reading do you get on the gauge boiler side, it needs to be at about 1.2 bars.

SOURCE: Rancilio Silvia: The steam works only for about 10 seconds

Remove the top panel and check the 3 thermostat on the machine one of them is not functioning properly, find the wire to the steam switch and trace it to the thermostat.

I have rancilio epoca e2. One side is not pulling a high enough temperature thus not good crema. Other side works fine

The only thing that comes to mind is the metering jet on the group as well as the reducers on the tubes bringing water into the group.

Hi! I have a Rancilio epoca DE 2 group machine and the antivacuum valve spurts water as the machine is heating up. ow can I fix this? Please advise

Your boiler is flooding because the water level probe is not behaving properly. The machine thinks it needs water.

I am trying to get the sight glass out of a two group epoca. It looks like the metal nipples extend into the glass at both ends with no way to move the glass up or down to free it up. I don't want to break...

If the epoca is the same as mine, the sight glass is made from a plastic material and if you pull it from the middle it will bend and come away from the nipples without much trouble..

Water doesn't come out from showerhead once the button is pressed - can hear the water pump going, the top of machine is warm so boiler is functioning.

Does water flow without the portafilter in place, if yes then check grind, if no then remove screw, filter and diffuser and press brew button, if water flows clean filter, if no water then the micro jet in the group head is blocked or the solenoid is clogged.

Rancilio epoca - heating element continue to stick on

It's the thermostat for certain.

Te release valve is put there it be sure the tank pressure doesn't get too high such as to cause a steam explosion/rupture of the tank.
