Time to start upgrading! Think power delivery, then amps, then speakers, then enclosures.
If you need more voltage, add batteries, capactors etc, if you're exceedingg the amp output range, you'll blow speakers (no matter what the speakers are rated for), if you have good power and the amp(s) are fine, your speakers may not be up to the task

DIGITAL S METER READING TOO HIGH WHAT VR POT TO ADJUST

please follow this steps and fix it. GOD BLESS you

    • 1
Turn on all of the devices in your sound system. Turn off any auto-equalizers on your sound system to gain fullest control over frequencies. This switch might be found on the receiver or the equalizer itself.
    • 2
Play a test song on repeat. Choose a song with both extremely high and extremely low instruments so that you have a wide frequency range to listen for.

    • 3
Listen for any obvious distortions in the highs and lows of the songs. Lower the knob on your equalizer for any distorted frequencies until the distortion disappears. Try at first to find the highest setting possible without distortion.
    • 4
Adjust all frequency ranges in relation to each other to find a pleasing blend for your room, trying not to let any one frequency range dominate the others. Use the highest non-distorting settings found in Step 3 as maximum settings, but don't be afraid to lower a booming bass or a screeching flute that disrupts the overall blend of the music.

Play a song from a different genre to test how the EQ works for different types of music. A hip hop song will have louder lows than a string quartet, for example, so make sure your bass frequencies sound crisp on both types of music.

Gt5 12 inch 275 watts how many watts of amp best?

Depends on what output your stereo is. If you underrate the speakers (speaker watts is less than stereo output), the unit will sound louder for a while, then you end up blowing your speakers with the excess distortion. If you overrate the speakers (speaker watts is higher than stereo output) the speaker will not operate correctly and the distortion can damage it also. Its best to get a close match. Slightly higher is better. It is important you know actual wattage output not PMPO ( Peak music power output) A lot of stereos are rated at PMPO. The higher number sounds great but in reality, the figure is the MAX output and by then the sound is distorting badly. Distortion ruins more speakers than anything else...

What are the control knobs on a fender usa telecaster for. explain each knob please

The one furthest from the switch is volume. The next one is a tone knob. Volume rasises or lowers the resistance and makes the guitar louder. You can also "clean up" a distorted tone by rolling off volume. Tone makes the sound more bassy or more treble.

I have a 200w Paradigm subwoofer that recently started a nasty feed back that sounds like an automatic machine gun. Is it a connetion problem or a something else

Do you have a habbit of turning your woofer up louder than listening to "clean" music? As you turn up the volume almost to the maximum, you should notice when the "clean" sounding music turns to "not clean" sounding music. Also known as "distortion". That "distortion" is actually your amplifiers inability to play louder than that point. When you turn up the volume past the point when the music sounds like it is "unclean" sounding music, your amplifier is pushing instructions to your woofer, but the woofer can't handle all the extra instructions and is damaging your woofer. And hense, over time, you can damage your woofer beyond repair.

If you can't find a loose connection, there are only 2 other possibilities. You wore out your amp. Or, more likely, you wore out your woofer. Or......Please, no......not that.......possibly both. Amps can be sent to the manufaturer for repair, but check craigslist before you spend on repair. I would focus on the woofer possibly being the worn piece. A high end audio shop will gladly take $15-30 from you to test your woofer and amp for you.Just tell them what you hear. They can also check all your connections for you.

Good luck.

I have 2 kenwood 3011 400 watts rms and 12oowatts peak power each 1 is blown and wonderin about upgrading 2 the Hifonic Olympus OLM1612 would this be a good upgrade even thought i only a 400 watt kicker...

yea for sure thats a good upgrade. You shouldnt havebeen able to blow the kenwoods with 400 watts though-meaning that they probably blew from distortion which causes heat(fast) Check your gain on the amp start it out at 1/4 gain and turn up your deck to the point where you can hear distortion from your mids and highs or to the maximum level that you listen to your music at. If you're jamming out at a level that is causing distortion then you will be sending a distorted signal to the amp as well. The amp then amplifies the distorted signal through the subs which overheat and blow. So find the distortion spot and then turn it down just a little bit till it clears up your sound-then adjust your gain on the amp up slowly until you cant hear it getting any louder. Once you have done that you have reached the limit of CLEAN power that you are going to get.Thats where you want to keep it. Watch the bass boost too if you have the bass up on the deck and then crank up the bass boost on the amp it really f's up the signal too. Good luck

Amplifiers GT Series GT5-A604 ........explain settings

the amp probably has a x-over knob, a bass boost knob, and an eq knob. the eq is probably an internal crossover switch that will take the output from either high range (tweeters) or full range (6x9s) or low pass (subs) leave it on low pass. the bass boost however, will add distortion if turned up too high. its not noticable in the car, actually it sounds louder in the car but if you open the trunk and listen, you can tell its distorted bass and actually frying your speakers. the x-over knob is used to tune the frequency at which the amp stops pushing out bass tones. if you like rock music loud, turn it up higher, if you like low deep rap bass, turn it lower. keeping it too high might give you bad sound from either type though. ALSO THE GAIN OR LEVEL.IT IS NOT TO MAKE YOUR SUBS LOUDER IT WILL BLOW THEM .the gain is used to set your amp to your head unit which there is a procedure to do it.
