1. Open the door, remove the bottom rack and then then the lower wash arm and cover. The wash arm should be held by a large tumb trun. One you have the cover off, look for debris that may be blocking the wsh pump and drain inlet. After manu uses, sometime debris will accumulate.
2. If no luck, remove the front lower cover, find the attachment point for the drasin hose, remove the hose (out a shallow pan under it to catch any remaining water) and then unscrew (carefully) the check valve assembly. It's spossible something is stuck in the valve. When you reinstall it, do not overtighten it.
3. Of still no luck, it's possible the drain slinger is either plugged or worn. It resides under the pump impeller. Also check to see if the manual drain select switch works.

I can't figure out how to take apart the spray arm on my Kenmore dishwasher to see if there's anything stuck in there. The dishwasher is making a loud noise and I think there could be something stuck. I tried to unscrew it but it won't budge. Is it supposed to come off some other way?
